The Naked Ladies at the Bus Stop

Dear Ladies,

Upon approaching the bus stop today I was non-plussed. Had I, I wonder, gone back to bed to have another dream? Was this some kind of publicity stunt?

It seems not. You waited quite unaware at the bus stop and got on the bus and I was really surprised how few people if any, seemed to notice.

Perhaps I had missed something, I thought and it is now legal to ride the bus naked. I thought it looked more than ridiculous, but then fashions often do. I averted my eyes in the sake of public decency and waited for the arrest, but none came.

This caused me to consider whether to pinch myself in case I really was not awake.

I did and I was and it was only near the end of the journey that I realised. I wanted to shout:

"IF YOU WEAR FLESH COVERED LEGGINGS WITH NO SKIRT IT LOOKS LIKE YOU FORGOT TO PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON."

Please do. You really were not a pretty sight and neither of you has the figure for it.

And it is worse then the trousers showing your boyfriend's backside.

Maybe they realised that it looked naked and wanted to look like that? Sometimes when we are young, a new craze looks good and it's only when we realise what an horrific fail we have just made that we decide not to follow the fashion quite so faithfully. You have prompted an idea for a new post but I don't have time just now. Must put it into the drafts! And leave you hanging. - sorry emoticon

Oh, and if one has any cellulite, those leggings just seem to highlight it.

Thank the LORD you don't have to ride the bus with some of the people I do. My ex-colleague, who lives locally, is a size 'tent' and will insist on wearing leggings with a tunic which hugs every single one of her not inconsiderable curves. Her thighs are jammed together from carrying the weight of her body and she waddles most unbecomingly. Most women her size would wear a proper dress, I think.

Then we have the slim young whippersnapper who wears a skirt that might have possibly been mistaken for a belt before it shrank in the wash...she's very young and looks fairly naive, so I wonder if she actually knows/cares how many eyeballs she is grabbing.

I had a pair of ribbed black leggings at 16 which I wore with a vivid orange jumper and a pair of flat black knee high boots. My mother always thought it looked as if I had left off a skirt and it was only later that I realised she was right. Now I refuse to wear any short tops and have ended up selling many of my tops on eBay because I'm conscious of NOT wanting to look like that any more.

I have seen those advertised but never seen anyone wear them. I need to try that here just to see what people would do lol

There are some people that do not seem to care how they present themselves to the public and ladies that dress as you described are among them. I wonder if they were on their way to Wal-Mart where they would probably fit right in wardrobe wise.

Ohheck. Now I want to wear flesh-colored leggings in public!

It's obvious that people today are really pushing the envelope for what is indecent to wear. Just look at what J-Lo and Miley and other pop role models are wearing!

I think those who wear these wild type clothes have a low self image and are trying to bring attention to themselves.

I would only wear dark-colored leggings--those don't show the bumpy bits!
