Blind but not Beaten

Asif Patel enjoys a cult-like following in his city. People flock to his workshop just to see him bring a dead to life or test the brakes of an ailing vehicle.

He is not a in the sense the term celebrity is commonly used but if you consider the fact that he runs one of the most successful workshops in Lasbela, while being totally , you would understand what makes him so special.

Asif Patel was born blind but he loves putting things together. He is self taught and experimented on his father's cars and then his friends and neighbours who were always amazed by his ability to figure out why the vehicles are under performing just by listening to the engine sounds.

His team is currently exploring hybrid cars and working on Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) systems. This might not be a big deal in developed countries where special people are given lots of privileges and help but in a country like Pakistan where odds are stacked against him, his each achievement is nothing short of a miracle.

That is truly an inspiring and encouraging story. It is true that Blind people can accomplish much. Without sight, the sense of sound is definitely magnified and enhanced.

It shows that the human spirit can accomplish much when a determined person fights the odds and wins!
