Amazon Turk Now Lousy Site To Earn Money

Dear readers I can no longer recommend Amazon Mechanical Turk (Mturk), as such a viable place to earn money. Over the two years I have been active on Mturk I have noticed how the pay for online tasks has dropped dramatically. It used to be I could get $1 for a 15 to 20 minute task. Now almost none to be had.

Also those tasks offering 50 cents or less seem to take 20 to 30 mins or more. Who are they kidding? Cheap bastards! Moreover, many tasks require an eligibility test which quite often is not mentioned up front. There is no pay offered for taking these eligibility tests. Furthemore, many tasks now require workers to be specially invited. Take my advice: avoid Mturk.

I have been on MTurk for over 3 years. Did fine setting my own pace and plenty of easy ones to do but I would say the last 6 months have seen a dramatic drop in available hits with "regular" posters dropping out, almost no one shot blast through a 100 hits and increase of these insane hits paying 2 cents for a job requiring 20 minutes with all these demands. Plus the old surprise essay trick and lie that it takes 5 minutes when no way. I muddle on maintaining a modest daily goal but it is getting more difficult and earnings are scaling back.

I have not heard of this and am glad I never did since it is declining in paying well.

For no apparent reason, they rejected me. Sounds like they did me a favour! Nothing seems to be paying much anywhere any more.

Oh well! Can scratch Turk off my “To Do List”.

I never could figure out how to qualify so I didn't do it. I've never trusted Amazon to pay fairly for anything.
