Coming Soon to a Theatre Near You: 2016 Movies

This is by far not the complete list of movies that is coming to theatres this coming year, these are just a few. Several of the ones that I have seen or heard information about looked a tad hoakey, or just plain bad. I don't know about you but when a movie is about Polar bears and uses the voice talent of Rob Schneider, I have to pass. Hehehe. Anyay, here's a look at five movies that will be hitting the big screen in 2016.

  • Batman vs Superman- This is probably the most hyped movie on this short list. Batman has always been popular, possibly even more show since Christian Bale took over the caped crusader's roll with the reboot of the the movies in Batman Begins. This time around we have a whole new actor donning the black suit and cape, Ben Affleck. Alongside Affleck will be Henry Cavil as Clark Kent/Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. I can't say that I am super excited to see Affleck take on the roll as Batman, something about it just doesn't seem right. My apprehension may also stem from the fact that he was in a superhero movie before, and it bombed bad. Daredevil, anyone? I am however interested to see Amy Adams take on the roll of Lois Lane, I have seen several movies with Adams in it, and she does a great job every time.
  • Finding Dory- This is the sequel to the much loved Pixar movie Finding Nemo. Familiar voices from the first one will return including Mel Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres. This movie will center more around Dory, the blue tang fish with memory problems and will follow her story as she reunites with friends and family.
  • Kung Fu Panda 3- In this third installment of the Kung Fu Panda Franchise Po voiced by Jack Black will face two huge threats, one being of the supernatural kind and the other one that will affect his home more. I'm all for cute little kids movies that everyone can enjoy, but three movies about a karate chopping panda? Seems a little much to me.
  • Silence- This movie is set in the seventeenth centurty and is the story of two Jesuit priests whom ace opposition and violence as awell as persecution when they take their gospel and travel to Japan to spread it. It wilĺ be starring Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield, so the cast is somewhat promising.
  • Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children- This movie is based on the book of the same title. I recently read this book, as well as the second one, and can say that I am excited about the movie. I'm even more excited that Tim Burton is directing it. He is the perfect person to put the world and weirdness that is in the book into film. The movie will follow Jake as he explors the mysterious island of his grandfather's stories and encounters children and adults unlike he has ever seen before. Eva Green will star as Miss Peregrine, and Samuel L Jackson is also a part of the cast.

So there we have it, five movies that are set to hit the big screens next year, are you interested in seeing any of these? Are there others that are not on this list that you are interested in seeing?

None of these excite me though Tim Burton is always interesting. Henry Cavil was the blandest Superman and I just don't see Affleck as Batman. He will really have to work to bring a fresh interpretation on the heels of Bale.

There have been two movies that Affleck did well, maybe three. The rest have sucked.

Finding Dory might be cute to watch and Silence sounds interesting, but I think I can wait to see them on Netflix when they get there.

Miss Peregrines is the only one that I think I'll actually go see in theatres to see, and thats only because I've read the book.

I am looking forward to "Finding Dory." I like some cartoons.
