Need to Stay Focused Today

I feel that I have neglected so many things that I must get done, by being preoccupied with situations and people requiring me to be supportive. I recognize that is a choice I make, and the cost of doing so is that I do not have the energy to do the small things.

Today, I am hell-bent on making a list and getting some things done that require my attention. First things first:

  1. Drop off my rent check
  2. Return book and movies to the library, and pick up TV series on hold
  3. Pay my bills online
  4. Go to credit union to make deposit
  5. Redeem my Starbucks "freebie" for lunch
  6. Redeem my Eddie Bauer $15 birthday coupon
  7. Clean out my car
  8. Change my bed linens and wash blankets
  9. Put away dishes from dishwasher, and reload
  10. Write review of movie, Argo , for PP

Ten things. Nothing difficult, but some I have put off.

Should I not get all done today, as I can get side-tracked easily, then it will be at the top of my list for tomorrow. I have never been one much for lists, but I think it might be something that could give me a bit of focus now.

Oooh, you saw Argo!? I love that movie. So much.

Yep. Watched it last night.

I await your review.

You'll get it done.I believe in you. Then, have some wine.

Join me in a glass? I drink reds, mostly merlot.

They make glasses big enough for us to both fit in? 😊

yeah lists do give you a bit of focus!

*shakes my head*

wolfgirl569 wrote on September 3, 2015, 3:58 PM

Hope you get many of the things done today just so they are out of the way. I am wishing you luck

I sometimes do lists, but am quite happy to drop items off it. No reason is to small!

That's why I don't like lists. They sometimes can become intimidating. And I don't like that stress. I rather just keep a few things at a time in my head that need to be done. Then, when I am done with those, add another few things to my head to get done. It might not get done as fast maybe, but it gets done.

I always prioritize things on my list. For example, if the rent is due today, that is the number one thing that must be done.

That´s quite a list Coral. They might only be little things, but put together will take up a fair bit of time. BTW, I keep seeing an ad on TV, it´s 2 Peruvian woman wrestlers, but changes to 2 Spanish ladies fighting to get to the last piece of ham on a plate. Every time that ad comes on I think of you, it´s nothing to do with the product, but all to do with the music and I´m sure it's your favorite band TOP doing a live gig.

Your list is somewhat similar to one I will have later in the week. I am way behind on book reviews.

deafdiva "a bit" is a "little bit" in my world of focus, but every little bit helps, right? LOL

CoralLevang wrote on September 4, 2015, 4:13 PM

wolfgirl569 Sometimes I wonder why we do them today, since we just have to do them again later. ROFLMAO I need more than luck, hon!

CoralLevang wrote on September 4, 2015, 4:13 PM

Rufuszen You'll see from my list today, I'm right there with you! LOL

CoralLevang wrote on September 4, 2015, 4:15 PM

You are younger than I am, Steven. My head doesn't remember them as well. I used to be able to keep my work schedule in my head without ever writing it down or keeping a calendar many moons ago.

CoralLevang wrote on September 4, 2015, 4:17 PM

Yes, that is a great way to do it. Covey / Franklin method was something like prioritizing with A, B, C and 1, 2, 3; i.e. A1, A2, B1, B2, B3, C1
For some reason, that method didn't work well for me.

Hi Anne!!! *HUGS* ( Hollyhocks100 ) I wonder if the commercial is on youTube? Would love to see it! Hope you are well.

BarbRad I am trying to list only 10 things...never more....and keeping some simple. I must stay focused, but not be overwhelmed.

What is that saying, "The hurrier I go, the behinder I get"?

wolfgirl569 wrote on September 4, 2015, 5:22 PM

I can crack a whip over your profile picture if that would help lol. Dont feel bad I am falling behind on stuff again it seems like

DWDavisRSL wrote on September 5, 2015, 4:59 PM

On of the nice things about not making a list is that if I don't get everything done I have no idea that I didn't do them.

CoralLevang wrote on September 5, 2015, 5:31 PM

I LIKE this logic!
