The Definition of a Velcro Dog

Ace has always been pretty attached to me ever since we brought him home. Since I started back to school, Ace is never far from me whenever he is indoors. He has his own spot on the corner of my recliner.

In this picture, Ace is on guard on the armrest of my recliner. He keeps a watch out the back door in case of squirrels or other intruders into the yard. He will also bark at reflections of the television in the back door glass.

Since I started working at school again Ace has taken to sleeping on our bed some nights. K had a long standing rule against dogs on the bed, but for Ace she has relaxed the rule. We didn't invite him up. One morning we woke up to find him sleeping on the bed between us.

Right now Ace is resting on his spot on the footrest of my recliner while we watch HUGO.

DWDavisRSL He sounds like a wonderful dog. I wondered where the "velcro" came in. The best dogs are Velcro right?

Schnauzer are known for their loyalty to one member of the household above the others, and will stick close to them. Ace will follow me around the house. If I'm working in the living room that's where he'll be. If I go to the office, he'll follow.

I remember becoming rather fond of Ace when you first got him. He sounds like just my kind of dog still!

As I read here I have Bambi curled on one side of my desk and Duke on the other. Bunny steals my recliner while I am at the desk. They are all 3 very good at knowing when I move

Ace is the greatest little dog. His favorite place to be is wherever I am.

I've just had to shift my velcro cat off my feet a few times. If she could just stay NEAR me instead of ON me!

He's a pretty dog. How is Hugo? I haven't seen it yet, but heard good things about it.

I think you will enjoy it. It mixes fiction and history in a delightful way, with some romance thrown in, in the background. You have to watch carefully or you'll miss some of the most touching scenes.

Joe Cat can be like that when I'm in my recliner. But here in the office he's happy with my desk.

A dogs obsession with squirrels is so funny. I have no idea if you have seen the animated movie "UP", but one of the main characters is a smaller sized dog that can talk. He will be in the middle of a conversation and abruptly stop when he sees a squirrel and say "Squirrel!" It takes him a bit to recover from the squirrel sighting and get back to the conversation.

Bless him. Truly man's best friend. Give him a hug from me, please?
