Three Short Poems

Sloth, Thy Name is Cat

--a haiku series--

Asleep in the sun

Warm golden rays slanting down

Sparkle on soft fur

---

Waking for a moment

Stretching impossibly long

Then curling back, snug

---

Oh, how delicious

Napping in the afternoon

Sloth, thy name is Cat.

Promise Fulfilled

Just one piece of mail

Today, but it's the one that

I've been waiting for

A Pair O' Dactyls About Pterodactyls

Flippety Flappety

Big flyin' reptiles

Once dominated

The skies over Earth

--

Paleontologists

Dig up the fossils and

Museum curators

Give 'em a berth!

(for more information about the double dactyl form of poetry, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_dactyl )

Love those, especially the Haiku series about 'sloth thy name is cat" .

These are fun I hope to hear more about the cat.

Nobody likes dinosaurs around here, huh?

I enjoyed your poems. I had not heard of the dactyl for of poetry before but they are cool.

I just love the rhythm of it! And the fact that the word "paleontologists" had the exact right rhythm to fit in perfectly was such luck, because I was absolutely wedded to my silly title.
