Friday's Visit to Tacoma

Friday was a busy day. I drove into Tacoma from where I live in Silverdale, which takes me about 35 to 40 minutes.

I stopped by Cheney Stadium to buy tickets for the last home game for season for the Tacoma Rainiers. It is the "surprise" gift that I mentioned to my nephew on Thursday at his 7th birthday party. (See Party, Presents, and Pokemon .) Our seats are between home and first base, seven rows above the box seats.

I also stopped in to the stadium's store, to see about buying team hats or t-shirts. I could not believe the prices--$20 for a cap. They did have a small section that had some caps and shirts that had a small flaw or smudge for $5 each. We will all look like true fans. I am excited about taking him to the game.

After that, I went to the hospital to see R.N. He actually looked better than he did before his surgery, when I last saw him. We had a short visit, but it is going to be a long haul back for him. I hope that he will be able to make the life changes necessary, after he is released. I hope to see him again tomorrow.

Lastly, I went by Costco to pick up several things I needed to stock, before making the drive back. Before going home, I stopped in to check on my "adopted Dad" to make sure he was okay, made sure he ate some dinner, and we watched the last quarter of football game.

It is when I made the arrangements to come by on Saturday to work in his garden. But that will be for a later share today.

Sounds like you had a full day. And prices are outrageous on anything to do with sports

Sounds like you had a super busy day. Yep, caps, Tshirts and and sports goodies can cost quite a lot if bought brand new.

You get a break in that minor league game tickets are less than major league but no such break on concessions and souvenirs.

That's an action packed day, so far!

That sounds like a busy Friday to me. My Friday was driving to get my kids. When I got home I was beat. That ride always knocks me out. But the weekend was fun.

A game with a loved one sounds great

That is why I feel very fortunate, indeed, to have bought 3 ball caps and a t-shirt from the clearance bin for $20 total, plus tax!

Sounds like a very full day. I"m amazed you can keep going at this pace which would absolutely tire me out. I'm glad R.N. is doing better.

I feel fortunate to have gotten the $5 deals.

Unless you find the souvenirs in the discount/clearance bucket. emoticon :winking:

I have never been to a Sam's club. I imagine it is the same as Costco?

Rufuszen inertia4 I prefer when I am busy, but understand "beat," as well.

Steve, how far to drive one way for the kids? Glad you had a good time.

I can hardly wait, LoudMan . There will be four of us going.

Well, the one way trip, the halfway point is a little over 50 miles. Mind you, I live in NYC. So, going from Brooklyn, through staten Island into Jersey to get there, takes a long time for me. From my house, with traffic, to the Verrazano Bridge takes me about a half hour. And it is not that far away. So the whole one way trip takes me anywhere from an hour and a half to about two hours. Then I come back home and it is about the same amount of time. Annoying.
