Back to school

Schools are re-opening after 10 weeks of summer holidays tomorrow and my three older children will be going to new classes.

I thought I will write an acrostic poem to depict the pain and sorrow which most children feel when reopen after long .

The initial few days are very tough for and their parents as it is difficult to get back into some sort of sane routine.

Though I am a very bad poet, I still hope you enjoy the poem

(An acrostic poem is one in which the first letter of each line spell some words usually the topic and in this case it is B-A-C-K T-O S-C-H-O-O-L)

B ags weighed down with books

A nd uniforms new and crisp

C hildren reluctantly go back to school

K nowing summer holidays are now over

T o classrooms they now return

O nce more to be taught and graded

S ummer fun a thing of the past

C lasses now have to be endured

H oping the lessons will not be too boring

O pportunities to excel and learn new things

O nce again are being offered.

T eachers rule the days

L ife is busy again until the next holidays!

That is a good poem and I do understand that feeling children have about starting back to school. I had those same feelings when I was a young student.

Glad to see another who appreciates acrostics, as I do!

You are a very good poet. When I was younger, I felt just the opposite about the first day of school. I looked forward to it and loved it.
