School Year Starting

It seems like each year the summer goes by faster and faster. I remember when the school district we live in was done with school for the summer in June. Now it is time for a new year to begin. For some local schools it started as soon as this past week. To me, that just seems too early. I always remember starting the week before Labor Day and ending around the beginning of June. Personally, I wish schools would build their schedules around starting the day after Labor Day and ending by Memorial Day. I bet the students would especially enjoy that! This year is an especially important one for my nephew-his senior year. He will turn 18 in October. Although a lot of the kids are happy about graduating from high school, my nephew is somewhat sentimental. I know it's hard especially without his father and grandfather around (my brother and father). He has really excelled academically and athletically (football and wrestling). I could only hope and pray that he has a successful final year.
