Some Funny Poems (I Hope)

Jury Duty

Jury duty, so much fun

Sit around with everyone

Drink bad coffee, watch TV

Write bad poems for PP

They inform us they will pay

A whole twelve dollars for the day

My job pays more than twelve an hour

This makes my outlook rather sour.

If I can just through this day get

For two more years I will be set

No more chores of civic duty

Till then, I'll sit here on my booty.

Ode to Krispy Kreme (Southerners Will Understand)

O, Krispy Kreme,

Your glowing neon beacon

Has lured me

I wait in the drive-thru line

With kindred souls

We hunger for the sweet sugar glaze

Crackling across warm, golden dough

That melts in the mouth

With each bite, I can feel my ass getting fatter

And yet, it feels like love.

Really love the first one. You nailed it with that

I empathize with your jury duty poem. I've had it twice and still haven't been put on a jury. As for Krispy Kreme, there is no other taste quite like a fresh hot KK donut.

Love the jury duty verse. You are fortunate. You only get called once every two years. We can get called once a year.

Krispy Kreme donuts are made with crack, I swear.

I love them both. We have a Krispy Kreme here, and I'm not in the South, though I do remember them from there, as well. I miss Dunkin' Donuts. :(

What? You mean to tell me that there are no Dunkin' Donuts in your neck of the (Washington State) woods? No way!

No, there used to be, but they the last two franchises closed their doors in 2002. It was a sad day for us...well, me, at least.
