Good Intentions Went by the Wayside

I set my schedule today to include an 8 a.m. kick-off breakfast in Tacoma (45 minute drive) for a fundraising event benefiting the American Cancer Society. My calendar also showed a late morning block for a manicure and pedicure, followed by a visit to the hospital to see RN. He is still there recuperating after his quintuple bypass heart surgery.

I did not feel much like getting out of bed today. I have yet to jump in the shower. It is one of those "blah" days. I am not even sure what is going on and why I am feeling so slow to start today.

So, my plans have changed.

I will get showered and dressed, and head to the library to return the two seasons of "The Good Wife," which I finished last night.

I also need to return two other books, that lexiconlover recommended to me. I tried reading them both (same author), and I just could not get past the first 50 pages with either of them.

Tonight, I need to pick up my 83-year-old friend, and we are going to meet others for dinner to celebrate our birthdays. His was the 3rd; mine the 10th.

Other than that, my day will be uneventful (with planned activities), as I will just do what feels right for me.

Praying this loss of get-up-and-go turns out to be of the 24 hour variety and tomorrow finds you full of vim and vigor.

Well, hey, it's YOUR day and YOUR life -- you're entitled to do as you please. : )

I didn't meet my goals today. i had hoped to finish at least two blogs posts, but I stayed up too late last night to finish a book, slept until 11, and then got into a longer than usually conversation with my husband after breakfast. I couldn't even start working until 1:30. By the time I finished some maintenance on my blogs and played around on myLot, the day was about over. About all I finished was my daily city photo blog post and a post here on Persona Paper about the legal thriller I was finishing last night. Now it's about bedtime.

*in my best little kid voice, as I stomp my foot* Yeah! And no one is the boss of me!

BarbRad I am guessing that you are one of the hardest working people I know. You are always involved in a project. I admire you for that. And sometimes, conversations are needed. emoticon

There were only 5 of us. We went for dinner.

May i ask what kind of great food you had for dinner?

I have days like that, no amount of tea will get me moving!

I had a birthday coupon for a restaurant called "Elmers." They offer for one's birthday, what they call a "German Pancake" which is like a Dutch Baby. It reminds me of what our British/Aussie/NZ friends here might call their pancakes, unlike the American style. It's more like a huge crepe with turned up edges ( It has powdered sugar, butter, and squeeze lemons over it. You can also get it with some sort of fruit topping, if you want it. I got the plain one, but upgraded the pancake to a meal for a few dollars more. So, I got the pancake, two poached eggs, two chicken apple sausages, and a cup of coffee for $5.21 with tax, plus the tip.

I am the same. Tea or coffee.
My favorite tea is Earl Grey with double bergamot. YUM.

Rufuszen wrote on August 16, 2015, 2:17 PM

There is only one tea and that is Earl Grey. I do have a 'guest' tea each month just to ring the changes. I use loose leaf tea, I doubt if makes the taste any better, but I enjoy the ritual.

I agree about the Earl Grey, but occasionally find the double bergamot, which is rare. Do you use an infuser, or do you put the leaves in the pot/cup and steep it right in it?
