Spent the Day Diving

My son and I spent the day diving with some good friends and some new friends. In the image you can see a group of divers on the surface of the water and they are getting ready to descend to the training platform. One of the divers is a friend of ours who is a dive instructor he is teaching the others how to be scuba divers.

We often help him with classes although we are not instructors we just haul gear and make sure the students are doing everything right and help where we can. Today we were able to help and then go on two of our own dives with a few other friends that were there today.

We were there from 8 am till about 4 pm enjoying good company, good food and some great diving. The weather was perfect too, a high of 83 F and sunny all day and not humid at all which was really nice.

Although I didn't get to many photos to come out very well I was able to get a few. Here are a few of them that actually came out well enough to see.

Photo taken by me on Aug. 1, 2015 Here my son took a picture of me getting my gear ready to get in the water.

Photo taken by me on Aug. 1, 2015 As always, got to have some good food when diving.

As always we had a great time and really enjoyed a nice day. Hope you all enjoyed your day too.

From the photo of your son it looks like the water was beautifully clear for diving.

LOL the food was good, also had steaks and all kind of chips and cookies, and two great dives :)

Actually, it was not very clear about 10 ft was about it, as you can see I was quite close to him to take that photo...the bad visibility was the reason many photos did not come out very well.

Spending all day in the water and then having a cookout sounds like a perfect day to me!

That's too bad. What was making the water so cloudy? Had there been a lot of rain, or is that spot often murky?

It's a dive quarry and a popular place for training dive students and as you can guess they like to hit the bottom and stir everything up. When there are a lot of students like there was that day the visibility gets bad really fast.

Right, it doesn't get much better than that.
