Georgia On My Mind And In My Rearview Mirror

We crossed the state line from South Carolina into Georgia just before lunch time today and made our first gas stop. There was a Wendy's next to the gas station so we grabbed lunch to go there and got back on the highway. It was at this point that I took over the driving. That's why I stopped making regular updates.

If you've never driven across Georgia on Interstate 20 you don't know what a long, dull drive it is. Up and down the rolling hills with nothing on either side of the highway to look at but trees. No scenery, no quaint villages, just mile after mile of trees. It lulls you into a sense of boredom and then suddenly, there's Atlanta.

I have only driven through Georgia once and that was on highway 95 for a short distance. I remember making a stop at Savannah which seemed like a nice city. Good luck on the rest of your trip.

I have never been there but sounds like a good pace to live

I've never driven to Atlanta on I-20. But driving between Chattanooga and Atlanta on I-75 is not bad. For me, at least, it's not boring at all.

You think 20 across GA is bad...try IH10 across TX. UGH.

Then once you get to Atlanta, you see nothing but tail lights! Have a safe rest of your trip!

At first when I started reading this, I thought you had entered Georgia from South Carolina on Highway 85 south. That is near where we live in North East Georgia. We travel that way many times when we want to go to Anderson SC or Greenville SC.

Savannah is a city I'd like to spend some time in. Been through a few times but never had the chance to stop and see the sights.
