Bar Food For Breakfast

I skipped breakfast because I have an early morning meeting with managers who are based on the other side of the world. Normally, we'd meet inside the conference room and the wonders of technology will help facilitate the meeting. Video-conferencing at its finest. Two worlds, one just about to call it a night, the other just barely awake, discussing how we can achieve a common goal for our beloved corporation.

So, I got to the meeting with no problem. Got plenty of time to spare. Much to my surprise the video conference wasn't set up yet. Our IT peeps usually do this. I go over to the IT team and asked about it. They said they received instructions not to set up the conference room. I didn't bother asking why and I just went straight to my work desk.

What do you know? Bosses from across the pond decided pay a visit to the locals. I've met most of them before and in fact I'm friends with them way back. They introduced two new girls who will be part of the London team. They flew in last night and decided to have a meeting and a little get together. I said sure and asked when. They said right now. I'm all for it!!!

Thank God for 24-hour bars!!!

We went to a sports bar near the office and promptly ordered bar food and drinks. By bar food I mean, fish and chips, garlic buttered chicken, stuffed jalapenos, sizzling pork sisig (a local bar chow favorite... two words, pig cheeks), fried tofu and pig ears, and some cheese sticks and spring rolls. By drinks, I don't mean coffee or juice, drinks as in beer and a round of shot for everyone of vodka, tequila, whisky.

Best.breakfast.ever.

Kinda reminded me of my beer for breakfast post. Read it here .

That must have been a very interesting meeting after a shot or two and a pint or three.

Well, we did finish the more important parts of the meeting before we had our first round of drinks! LOL!

Sounds like a great way to start the day.

Wow. Back in the old days, we would not have drunk our business meeting. We did it afterwards.

Times have changed I guess. Plus, alcohol helps in the creative thinking. LOL!

Just one more thing that we old-timers valued, I suppose. Work first, party later. emoticon :winking:
