A Grey, Wonderful Morning

I woke up a half hour ago to my alarm clock. I did not get to sleep until after midnight, but I was able to sleep more than five hours. Knowing that RGD had committed to making his trip was a load off of mind, and some of my own decisions as I am beginning to move forward in some other things, seems to have taken a bit of load off of my own shoulders.
It is a cool and grey morning with cloud coverage and a comfortable 59F/15C. I love it like this in the morning! The high today is forecast at 76F/24C, and then we are to have some cooler weather tomorrow and through the weekend. We may get a couple of days of much-needed rain, and highs of 70F/21C.
I hear the trash and recycling trucks coming through the streets. There is a comfort to me to hear the working of the neighborhood, as I am getting myself ready for work, my last day for six weeks or so. (This is some unknown territory for me, and I have a little concern, but I know it is a decision that I am confident I will survive.)
At this very moment, all seems right with the world.

That is too grey and gloomy for my taste. Makes me want to stay in bed with the covers pulled up.

Things always seem better after a reasonable night's sleep and maybe that is what the cooler weather gave you? 6 weeks holiday! Lovely.

We've been gray and stormy here in eastern NC as well. I am enjoying the cooling effect of the rain.

Good to hear that at least you have a good sleep. We have a gloomy weather here too.

As long as you have self-confidence, everything should turn out fine for you. I hope you had a great last day on the job.

JohnRoberts Grey, yes...covers pulled up. Gloomy, no. I think gloom comes from within for me.
Besides, this time of year, we usually have it burn off after a few hours or a day. Next week is forecast to be sunshine and in the 80s.

MegL I am looking forward to the change of scenery/pace. A lot of decisions, but happy for the option.

&AbbyG Yikes! We are hoping for some rain this weekend. We SO need it. Nearly two months without even a half inch.

It was. It rained on and off all day and this morning the air is so much nicer.

The air here is not too bad, but the brush fires have taken its toll on the otherwise green around here. :(
