Why am I doing This?

I made a big mistake with my blog. I wrote articles with the idea that I wouldn't worry about SEO until later. After I got several up, I went back to fine tune the SEO. It's been a big job and I won't make that mistake again. Then there's all the networking you have to do to promote your website. Luckily, I've been networking on the Internet for a long time.
I also have to keep up my content writing on various sites and my Zazzle store. Why am I doing this? I have no idea. Probably because I'm addicted to the computer.
How long have you been writing or doing other things on the Internet. Do you think it's worth the time you spend? Do you make any money?

For the money that I make and the amount of time I spend, no not even close to worth it. Does it give me something to do when I am bored, doesn't it give me a place to vent, do I enjoy it? Yes to all. So is it worth it in that way...yes.

I was introduced to the Internet in late 1996 and got involved in chat rooms. I started a blog in 2007, but have deleted it and started another few years ago. I started writing for Associated Content in December 2008. I have made a little money, but not much. I would like to learn how to monetize my blog.

I have been online for over 10 years now. I started out with sites like InboxDollars, SendEarnings and MyLot. I have always claimed my earnings on my taxes because I have always made over $600 a year but that being said, I don't make enough to pay all of the bills. I have a personal blog but I gave up on it because the networking was extensive. I go back every once in a while and post something but I try to keep my online time narrowed down to the sites that are paying me right now.

I've only been writing on the internet in any serious way since last October. It started as a challenge from my class after they saw a news report about Bubblews on the in-class news show Channel One. I've been of FB and Twitter for several years related to my books. I also have an Amazon Author page. My efforts make a trickle of change (not including what I make on book sales). While the small amount of money is nice, I'm here more for the interaction and writing practice, and to stay in touch with the friends I've made online shout out to wolfgirl569 and CoralLevang whose comments I see above.

I have been writing online for somewhere around 10 years. The money comes and goes, at times I have made money and at times I haven't, but I have never stopped enjoying it. Freelancing is really the only way to make money now though and I don't have the time to commit to that these days, although I still dabble occasionally and write for one long term client.

You can make some decent money by finding clients. As far as making money yourself through your own blogs or your direct participation in writing sites such as PP, it certainly doesn't bring in a livable wage. But it's fun, and it's a way to earn without much stress.

I do know some people who make a generous amount of money from their blogs. It's a fulltime job, though, but that's okay with me.

It beats working for somebody else for sure. It's taken most of my life, but I've finally found something I enjoy doing.

I love it because you can meet people from all over the world. I have an online friend in Israel

You definitely have to network to make money online. I enjoy doing it, but pile writing on top of that and you've got a lot of work to do.

I remember those chat rooms. Where did they go to? What is your blog about? Have you applied to Google AdSense?

I think we're all hooked. I'm retired and would like to make money to supplement my income. At this point, I'm supplementing my ice cream habit.

i love my real world job far too much to give it up for online work, but there was a time when i thought i would. I really enjoy writing and i wish i had more time for it though

LOL, sounds like a yummy habit.

I don't have quite the niche with my blog. It's my random thoughts, rants, etc. on life ... but the theme is Living Beyond Life's Challenges, though I share more of self in some ways.
I am working on setting up a blog on career transitioning right now. Doing what I do in my workshops but in blog format.
I have not done the Google Adsense yet. Actually, I tried with one blog I had, but I did not like not having control over the types of ads they decided were appropriate for the blog, and I asked them to stop that association between us. I need to learn more about it.

Yes and most people (who are not working online) don't take it seriously and don't understand why I keep at it.

It seems a very busy online venture. I do not keep a website because I know I cannot handle it
