Fourth of July in the States

I hope everyone is having a fun 4th of July. There are cars parked up and down my street so I think my neighbors are partying. I'm not looking forward to the fireworks starting tonight. My dog, Jasper, is having such a hard time with all of the storms we've been having along with the fireworks that started about four days ago. I wish I had put him in the kennel at the vets this weekend. He jumps in my lap and starts scratching me when he hears the loud noises.

I took Jasper to a local pet shop today and washed him then brought him home and groomed him. It was costing me fortune to have three dogs groomed so I bought a good pair of clippers and a grooming table a few months ago. They were a great investment and I've already gotten the investment back.

That's my exciting day. What have you been up to?

We are here at home. We were going to go see the fireworks but decided to watch the Macy's Day 4th of July celebration. Our neighbors started last night. Sandy does not like them either. She barked quite a bit last night. So far today things have been calm but after the sun goes does I don't expect it to stay that way.

I feel so sad for the dogs. The loud noise doesn't scare the other two dogs.

I am home listening to the neighbors set off fireworks. The girls are curled by my feet because of them.

So good that the other two are not bothered by them. I don't think Sandy is scared of them but they irritate her. She was barking in that "don't come near my turf" tone.

I hope you had a wonderful day. I spent the afternoon and evening with friends.

LOL! OH, that's wonderful.

I spent the day by myself unless you count the three dogs and two cats. They're pretty good company.

We lived through last night, but they're still setting them off tonight.

I do plenty of that myself. I'm surprised it doesn't scare the dogs.

That's my "typical." I have been trying to get out of my "hermit" stage a little. It's usually associated with depression for me.

We just stayed at home this past July 4th. In past years we go over to the local high school to see the fire works but this year we didn't because of the weather.
