Independence Day Eve

I am feeling behind here at Persona Paper, not having written but twice in the last 24 hours. It is certainly reflective in the slow-down in the growth of coins, which have barely moved, as I have been unable to read and comment, as well. This is truly evidence that we must stay active here, if we want success.

Yesterday I went out-and-about. The heat is too much for me to bear, so I found places that had air conditioning--library, restaurant, Costco, etc. I drove quite a bit, just to sit in an air-conditioned vehicle. I cannot do that today, though I do have an appointment to get my hair cut today at noon.

I hope that everyone is doing well, staying cool and/or dry, and enjoying your Friday. If you are going out of town, please drive safely. I imagine that it is going to get crazy on the highways soon. With the 4th of July (Independence Day) weekend upon us, this is traditionally a big weekend for people to travel, camp, and have family get-togethers.

That is probably my cue. I have a half hour drive to my stylist's shop. I am not sure what to expect on the roads, so should leave a bit early. Take care!

EXACTLY! Though I don't have a resort-like home. emoticon :winking:

Enjoy the AC. It has been hot here in NC and humid. I really like this site and the coins move quite well for me. Much better than at the site that shall not be named. I am stumped at how slow the pages load for me though. That is rather daunting because it seems to take forever to visit profiles and threads.

Hopefully the nighttime temperatures will start to come down, at least. This heat wave is just too much! Stay safe over the weekend, and a Happy 4th of July to you, dear friend emoticon

CoralLevang Nice to connect with you today! I and Bodiemor spent 5 hours reading over a manuscript starting early am. (my day off but doing what I really want to do.) Then I said "I have to go because I need to shop - and..." I knew it was going to get crazy shopping - parking...etc. So I'm home now, retreating from the heat. Hope your drive to the haircut and back went well! Later I am chopping fruit for a big fruit salad tomorrow to take with a green salad to Bodiemor 's. BBQ, even though we are both Cdn. Ha ha.
Who doesn't love the "Independence" aspiration, wherever one is? Cheers!

Hope you have a great weekend. We will be working in the garden unless the skeeters drain us dry

Ah, yes, seren3 ! I agree! But that idea of independence and freedom flows deeply through my veins, far surpassing what the common understanding seems to be. I thought it was simply because I was getting old. emoticon :winking:

Here's to independence and the freedoms that living independent from fear offers to us all!

Doing well here. It has sure been quiet this year compared to previous years. I hope it is because people are being more respectful due the dry weather and fires coming so early this year. Those are scary. When we lived closer to the foothills we had a bad fire one year and we couldn't even go outside our door without getting smoked out. I had a bad case of bronchitis that year and thing it was due to the fires being so close. Hope our heat goes down because this is our ninth day of three digit weather. Ugh! I am upstairs and it is like an oven.

Thanks, Ruby3881 . At midnight, it was still in the 70s outside. The heat in my upstairs bedroom was unbearable, and the fans did little to help. We still have a week more of this, though there is some talk we might get some rain on Friday, from one weather-guesser. LOL

Have a great weekend.

I've spent more money enjoying other's AC! LOL Hope you are finding some relief from your heat/humidity.

You, too, Wolfgirl569 ! Enjoy your garden!!

It is a good holiday so far. We plan on cooking out later on today.

CoralLevang wrote on July 4, 2015, 3:55 PM

I hope that you are right, and that people are more respectful. I wouldn't bet on that one though. Enjoy your day, and try to stay cool, celticeagle .

MelissaE After writing a few things here today, and making a pasta salad, I'm going to jump in the shower to cool off, get dressed and head to my friend's (with air conditioning)!

Our twins have asthma so we stay inside when it is too hot/humid. It does just really depend on how they are doing that day too. We do try to get outside in the early evenings before its dark to let them expel some energy. I think that libraries and bookstores are the best place to hijack AC! Read and cool off at the same time.

We were supposed to get rain overnight last night, but that never happened. Apparently it's now forecast for the 14th and 15th. I sincerely hope it doesn't hold off that long!

I have been camped out in my air-conditioned house all weekend. It wasn't festive, but it was cool.

Now THAT is my kind of party! LOL
