Good morning or whatever part of the day is for you. Today is Sunday, June 21, 2015. The temperature is 63.5°F and the humidity is 89% at 6:07 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 mph with gusts of 1.6 mph. It’s overcast and dawning. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 86° (“cooler than yesterday”) today.
I slept in a little bit today, but got up a little after 5 and started scrubbing the kitchen floor. It’s looking a lot better, but can only do a little bit as a time. I think Mr. Siduri put in a last dish in the dish washer last night and didn’t close it. It was still open this morning and hadn’t run so it’s running right now. I try not to run appliances—dishwasher, washer and dryer, etc.,— during the day, but sometimes it just works out that way.
The next Hardy Boys is up. I’m almost done with Writing Fantasy & Science Fiction . I hope to be able to finish that today and post and review of that today or tomorrow.
I’m looking for markets for my short story “Dirt.” Sadly, most of the magazines that I find that will take long stories are closed to submissions, sometimes for the foreseeable future, sometimes for the summer months. Writer’s Digest will be coming out with their market guides, I believe in September, but I’d kind of like to get the story out and about before then.
Oh, it’s so nice to sit here with the back door open a slight cool breeze drinking some ice water. Even if it’s a little noisier than usual with the dishwasher going, I don’t have to listen to traffic, the neighbors’ music, or the sad news stories of a nutjob massacring innocent people, two murderers running around my old stomping grounds of upstate New York, another nutjob who calls herself white when it suits her and black when it suits her (but hasn’t massacred anyone).
And, of course: Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Hope your day is a good one.
Off to write another day—
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.
1. Spend an hour with Siegfried
2. Finish Writing Fantasy & Science Fiction . As time permits, begin a review of it.
3. Read for an hour.
4. Continue looking for markets for “Dirt.”
