How to succeed on Instagram.

We are surrounded by social media, it's everywhere now. On our laptops, desktops, smartphones and tablets. So it's no real surprise that businesses are using that to their advantage. For my industry, the beauty pageant world, social media can be a huge benefit.

We can post photos, updates and get many people involved, and with little cost or effort.

I recently set up an Instagram account for our pageant, and have had a great increase in entries to our pageants and we've reached out to many people around the world. So here are my tips for succeeding on Instagram (the photo sharing social media site)

1. Follow, follow, follow : If you open an account and don't follow other users, they won't know you are there!

2. Post multiple times a day about different subjects.

3. 'like' photos of other users who are in the same category. for example, I will search for photos of fashion models and other pageants.

4. Use hashtags. Hashtags are clickable links which group together photos of the same category, if I use this , I can then see photos from people who are also within the pageant industry.

I hope my few tips help your business succeed on Instagram! :) Happy snapping!

These tips are much the same tips as I have just been reading from a Guru who wants to charge $xx for a course on Instagram. I did decline the offer lol

I know nothing at all about instagram beyond the name. If you set up an account for your business, how do you manage to post so often on different topics, don't you need to post about your business?

I'm still trying to understand why Instagram is useful to a blogger.

Social media definitely requires a hefty investment of time, but it can pay off if you use it well!
