Your Fat Baby Will Not Thank You As TheYears Progress

A couple of days ago, I met a lady--with her baby and mother-in-law--whom I had not seen for a couple of years. The two ladies were super proud of their more-than-chubby baby. I felt a little sad. This baby, obviously, had already accumulated a lot of adipose (fat) cells and they will be with him for the rest of his life. These cells will be able to shrink and to expand, but they will not go away. In fact, as the body sees fit, a few more can be added in later life to replenish any lost ones. As the child grows older, fellow classmates may tease him about his weight and he may try to diet and even meet with a measure of success. However, as soon as he lets up on his diet and celebrates his victory with some big juicy hamburgers and salty chips, he puts on weight again. The adipose cells that became hungry and shrunk during the dieting phase are now being fed and expanding. How the boy, his friends, teachers and others handle this obesity problem will be very important. Remember the formula H x E = O. Well, adipose cells are compliments of the environment.

Were these two ladies perhaps just proud of the child, regardless of his weight? Or was it that they thought his chubbiness was cute?

Perhaps both, Ruby, which did not concern me. With some very gentle probing, I found that they knew nothing about fat cells and showed little concern about the repercussions of the little boy having them and getting more if he kept getting fatter. My hope had been that knowing about these cells, they would give some indication that they would change the little boy's diet to one less prone to producing adipose cells. Hopefully, our conversation will have a positive latent effect.

With enough exercise and a proper diet , My son was a mega child but it all fell off once he started moving about. We gave him the correct food but he was just big.
