Last day of school or Christmas vacation- which is better?

I asked my kids that question this morning and they had to think about it a little. Of course, summer vacation is longer --almost three months in our area. But there's a magic to Christmas break that can't be matched. I find that kids get bored pretty quickly in the summer. With Christmas break, they cherish those 10 days. They savor them. We have a few fun things planned for this summer: sports camp, art class, and tennis every day. We'll also be at the pool as much as possible. But 6 months from now we'll be getting ready for a cozier break. I can't wait.
