China, the World's Leader in Green Banking?
HI guys! I'm a freelance writer, reaching out to you as fellow lovers of writing. I need help crowdfunding (no costs involved) my latest journalism proposal:
"In 2009, a group of Chinese NGOs got together to create the Green Banking Innovation Award. Since then, the award has been presented to the Bank of China, China Merchant’s Bank and Industrial Bank for their dedication to “green banking.”
It sounds admirable, but what exactly is “green banking?” According to The Green Bank Report, it is the act of supporting and “promoting environmentally-friendly practises and reducing your carbon footprint from your banking activities.” Many activities - from using paperless account statements to issuing loans to environmental groups - can be classified as a form of green banking. So how do the Bank of China and other Chinese financial establishments merit this prestigious award?"
Please read my FULL PROPOSAL on Contributoria, and consider supporting it! Support is free to give and will hopefully result in the publication of my 1500-2000 word article. It just takes a moment to register with your email address and donate the 50 points you'll receive as a new member :)

What does the banks get in return for funding this project?

Do you mean the banks I'll be writing about? Oh they aren't involved, it's just a research project. It's a topic people don't know much about in the west and I want to share it!
