Sorry guys

Technology doesn't like me at the moment.

My purple Acer Aspire V5-431 laptop, less than 2 years old, has decided to have a wobbly moment. The hard drive is not well and parts of the Intel Technology Driver also appear to have failed.

So I am back on my old second hand ThinkPad.

I have a ton of eBay and writing to get through in the next few days. My husband is upstairs, colded up to the nines, rebuilding the purple baby as I type here. (Furiously bangs the space bar and remembers why she bought the new laptop in the first place.)

Latest review incoming. For those of you visiting or residing in Cardiff. I still have to produce these, even on the laptopwithoutaspacebar.

Ha, ha...that is funny. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well, gee Ms Melissa, thank you for your heartfelt sympathy! *grin*

I know my husband needed something to take his mind off this cold, but a broken laptop is not necessarily it.

Do you have a can of spray air? if so spray it under the keys, its likely just something stuck under them - at least that's what it was with me when I had no working spacebar or delete button, now that was awkward.

Tried that with this one. Newer machiney needs more fixing than a spray around!

Lesson learned - I don't eat around keyboards any more. Neither do I operate a holepunch or scissors as they are pretty lethal to wiring too.

Hope your newer one is up and running soon. I know what it is like to lose any key on the keyboard

Technology sucks sometimes doesn't it?

Newer one is toast. 'This is an ex-hard drive. Bereft of life it rests in peace,' etc etc. Weekend task is hunting around for the warranty, taking it to the store and moaning at them. This one also had a hissy earlier too, as it didn't like Chrome's newest 'update'. However Mr C removed Chrome, and I removed other bits associated with Chrome and it's stable at the min.

One of my least favorite things to deal with is a computer problem. I hope you get your computer issues resolved soon.

The best thing about this place is that because I married a geek, computers only find eBay when they are in pieces. There is always a second or third string lappie hanging about - I have three in various stages of workingness right now. My husband has...I have lost count. None of mine work fully, but at least two switch on,boot up and can be typed on to create documents.

Those also.
