Journal 05-01-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Friday May 1, 2015. The temperature is 58.3°F and the humidity is 69% at 6:39 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 1.6 mph. The sunrise was quite wonderful, fully orange and pink and other colors. No subtle dawn with her rosy fingers there. It’s still not completely daylight yet. The house was hot and stuffy all last night. I turned the air on for a little while and got up to get something to drink about 1:30. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 90° today. Again, it’s supposed to be “much cooler” than it was yesterday.

As so often happens, the dealer called and wanted to do more work on the car. In addition the $550 fore replacing the battery, they wanted to replace the shock and struts, recharge the a/c (it does need it), flush the cooling system, replace the g.v (?) boots and a couple of odds and ends for a grand total of $3830. I told them that wasn’t going to happen. I just don’t have the money. I figured with summer coming, flushing the coolant and recharging the a/c, then replacing the worst g.v. boot were all acceptable—grand total of $1500. OUCH that hurts.

The work on the master bathroom continues. The only thing Mr. Siduri hasn’t been able to find is a new medicine chest. He’s got the drywall repair just about done and will repaint. He bought a new toilet, but will wait until the new floor is laid—probably this Friday—before installing it.

The friend that I’m doing the beta reading for is apparently enjoying getting feedback. I’m glad. I’ve really put off getting back to him far too long. I guess it’s a byproduct of getting the feedback from the critique group. And maybe a procrastinating tool. I’ve got a lot of reading to do.

Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.

Writing schedule:

1. Continue reading Writing Fantasy & Science Fiction.

2. Refurbish another sci-fi review and post it.

3. Do a sorta daily writing prompt.

4. Continue researching and rewriting chapter 1 using critique group’s suggestions. On to chapter 2.

5. Read and review “Vital Ingredient.”

6. Read and review “A Shady Plot.”

6. Review the Van De Mieroop book on cuneiform for Examiner and on other before May 4.

7. Critique another chapter in “Infinite Prison” and send it back to J.
