It Is Done - the Audit is IN

I am sorely tempted to put this under Breaking News, seriously.

The is in, we have submitted it. An hour and a half or so ago, my project lead pressed the big green button. At 21:47 BST, no less. After working for ridiculous hours for the last few weeks (at least 9-10 hours a day) through the whole of the weekend and since 8 o'clock this morning, the work was done.

My husband came over to pick me up as it was so late, and I am now enjoying a glass of and considering the small mountain of other and sales I have ignored these last few days while writing for the audit.

My boss does not expect to see me at tomorrow, although I may sidle in later to work on the day admin that I need to get on top of. THAT's a month away, after all.

Meantime relief has hit and I feel quite euphoric. I've had a shower, changed into my pjs, turned on SceneSat and I'm now trying to ignore the knot in the back of my neck which was not eased by the shower I just had, but may well be by deciding to go to bed when I've finished my alcohol. Can't be bothered with supper, although my husband had a jacket potato and beans, judging by the washing up left in the kitchen before he wandered off to bed.

I honestly don't feel like writing anything much else tonight, never mind real and proper . So I fear some of the links I've been sent to review will have to wait until I have slept off the audit. At least if I don't have to be awake at half past drunken sparrow o'clock tomorrow, I can sort out my eBay sales, line up my braincells to write real and proper words again and generally come to in a timeframe acceptable to the post-audit slump.

Yes, just relax and don't worry about anything else tonight. It can all be let go.

It sounds as if you have earned a day off. Enjoy it

Oh, I know that must be a huge relief--kind of like what I felt when I was finally done with taxes emoticon

It's great when something as ig as that is done and dusted. I LOVE your time frame - half past drunken sparrow!

I bet you are glad that's over!

I am curious -- what do you sell on eBay?

WordChazer wrote on April 30, 2015, 2:19 PM

What do I sell? My houseful of clutter! T-shirts, tops and other preloved clothing, earrings, old electronic items, stationery, things I bought for penpal swaps years ago and never sent, kitchen utensils I don't use any more, some of my mother-in-law's costume jewellery which she no longer wears, old stock from previous business ventures (Kleeneze, Betterware etc)...anything and everything I can lay my hands on. I'd rather have the space and the money than the clutter to dust.

The alarm goes off at 5.30am. I have to be in the shower by 6.10am and the bus leaves 6.55am at the earliest. Work starts at 8am so no option on that with an hour's journey ahead of me.
