Got Myself a New Gym Bag...

... and I'm really glad with my purchase. Since I started going to the gym a couple of years ago, I've been using the bags of my younger brother and father, backpacks that they aren't using anymore. At the start I used my brother's Nike back pack and then later on I switched to my father's Jansport back pack.

Although I liked using both back packs, the back packs aren't big enough to carry all the stuff I bring to my workouts. I'd usually bring my boxing gloves, work out shoes and clothes, and an extra shirt and towel plus my toiletries. When I started my no-gi brazilian jiu jitsu training, I had to bring my rash guard and fight shorts... this is aside from the work out clothes that I use. I often had to just carry my boxing gloves because there was no space left in my back pack.

Anyway, I decided to purchase an actual gym bag, a gym bag big enough to hold all of my stuff. I did some checking on-line and I also went to different stores. I compared prices and specifications and after two months I decided to get an Under Armour Camden Storm LG Duffel gym bag. I already used the bag a number of times and I must say that I'm really happy with my purchase. The total set me back around $157 which includes shipping, insurance, and taxes. I've attached a picture of the gym bag for you guys to see. Also in the photo are my Twins boxing gloves and Vibram Five Fingers.

Anyway, I'm not brand conscious in anyway but I do believe in getting the most out of my purchases so I think with all the great things that I've seen from Under Armour products, I'm very confident that the gym bag will last me a long while.

Do you prefer certain brands?

If it works, it works. Brands are no longer reliable in terms of defining 'quality' or 'manufacture.' In fact, many 'brands' are all made in the same factory; sometimes with specific runs, others are simply a case where every other one is directed to a belt feeding a 'brand,' and still others have 'unique specs.' So, no. I'm not all that brand conscious unless it's a specific, typically hand made product.

I have never been brand conscious, but I'm becoming increasingly so. Some brands just have better quality. I got really tired of my clothes falling apart after 3 washes.

Nowadays I do not have much faith in brands. You just check different brands and choose one which satisfy your requirements.Do not worry about the brand. In most cases you will be lucky and your selection will last long.
