Away

I'm going to be away for awhile and likely will be posting just often enough to keep my account alive until I can get back. There is too much happening, too fast, for me to keep up with it all.
I am inundated with work, both at the office and at home, and it's difficult to even find time to breathe, some days. The summer programs we oversee are all in preparatory stages and about to take off, full blast. I have to get a garden put in. Spring cleaning may not be finished until August. I've signed up for an online writing class from Duke University that will add to the load for nine weeks during the height of summer.
I hope you have a wonderful time here in my absence - and I hope you're still here when I return.

And - although you're too tactful to suggest as much - whether or not you write much will mean a few pennies at most in the month. Maybe the site will pick up speed for your later writing efforts?

It sounds like you are going to be very busy and I am sure you know where your priorities have to lie.

Just lmao at just the idea of me being tactful! Here's the scoop, Vince - I'm not here for the money. There are a few, very few, people whose writing is of a caliber that can earn money. I'm not one of them. I enjoy playing with words, and I like the community here. I've been used to "social blogging" sites, most of which are very toxic. Lots of flame wars, name calling, drama, treachery, etc. It can be interesting (and even fun) but a steady diet of it becomes unpalatable. Here, I've found kind, friendly, interesting people whose lives interest me - and it is for that reason I'm here.

Good to know - I enjoy your posts and look forward to seeing you when I'm here.

I think I will, sort of. From May until September, my real life work is a whirlwind but it is good work and when the craziness is over I look back and appreciate what we accomplished.

Thank you!

I knew you would understand - you seem to be a wonderfully practical woman. I look forward to seeing you when I come to visit!

Thanks - improving the nuts n bolts of my writing is something I've been wanting to do for some time. My sister referred me to a site called Coursera.com - a number of professors from quite a few universities offer courses on almost anything under the sun, for free. I had to keep checking back for a few weeks but, finally, there was a course offered in basic English Comp that sounds just the ticket. I'm looking forward to it.

BeckyWiegers I do relate, about a month ago, I took a couple of projects at work and since then I have been working around the clock, but I pop in from time to time. Good luck with your projects!
