Do you enjoy putting pen to paper?

I always liked putting pen to paper when I was a kid.

Keeping a diary was second nature to me.

My voice isn't very loud and nor do I have a strong charisma so my family members and relatives like to talk over me.

(You know how some people with loud voices tend to be heard more often even though what they say is… never mind).

But a blank piece of paper is the best listening ear.

Seeing my thoughts form into words could be very therapeutic.

And most times after writing, I feel better on the inside.

Admittedly, the transition from paper journals to online blogs and now online platforms was a big jump.

When writing manually, your hand sometimes can't write as fast as you think.

Now that I type my thoughts, I can go a lot faster. But sometimes my brain can't keep up with my fingers.

Know what I mean?

I love writing long hand -- diaries and letters.

I enjoy writing. It's putting stuff down on paper. I don't really write in a diary anymore. Not like I used to, but writing here is a way for me to share things, and such.

I noticed that when I wrote things formally for my wedding—the invitations, the thank you notes and so on, there was a certain satisfaction to them. My handwriting was never very good and has only gotten worse. It's tiny and people say they have a hard time reading it. Oh, well.

It's definitely a lot faster typing than writing. I generally find my fingers can't keep up with my brain though. I would need to dictate to get anywhere near that speed but the sound of my voice would probably drive those thoughts from my head! emoticon :winking:

I am no good at keeping up with a journal. Have one by my bed for dreams but never grab it in the mornings

It's the other way around for me. I can't translate the thoughts in my brain to my fingers quick enough. hehehe.

I've always enjoyed writing, though I would much rather type on a computer than write with pen and paper! lol

We hardly use pens everyday now, except to write on the lucky draw forms at supermarkets.

I do know what you mean. My online writing and my journal writing in a notebook are quite different. I don't explore my true thoughts so much online.

And to fill up immigration cards when we travel by air!

Learning I could write poems and stories ad a child really boosted my confidence and I will always be grateful to my Mum and a particular teacher for encouraging me.

Long hand is the way I like to write as I feel more related to my subject.

Wow that is so great as a post... putting pen into paper. I think that is true, what you write is what is being heard more. Sometimes people don't listen to what we say but will find time to read what is our thoughts.

Writing documents your thoughts. Makes you think twice if you want another hear you think out loud. There is a permanence to the written word.
