Last Day of State Testing

For the past three days I have been accompanying my youngest son while he takes his state standardized testing for the school year. Since he is being home schooled as part of online charter school here in Oklahoma City, he has to go to where they have setup for the testing to be done.

It seems every year of the five years that he has been a part of the Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy the locations have been different. This year he had to take a test in three different subjects; English, Geometry and Biology. Today is last day and the subject is Biology and then he will be all done for another year.

Since he does not drive yet, one of us had to drive him to the testing site and stay with him. I was elected to take him and it was a good excuse to take three days off from work this week. The first day was actually all day, yesterday and today were just in the afternoon and then we will go back home.

At least I have a place to sit and put my laptop so that I can type away on this post. The only thing that would make it better would be if they had free WiFi. The first two days of testing were held at another location a few miles away, but at least there they had WiFi.

I am hoping the 90 minutes goes by fairly fast since I cannot go online and try to pass the time quicker. I hope your day is going well.

Yeah, I would imagine every state would do things differently to accommodate the home schoolers.

that is a long time to just sit and wait. Hopefully your son is goo with Biology and gets done with it early.

Good luck to your kid. I hope he aces all his exams!

Oh and 90 minutes, feel like 9 minutes when online.

Well, he did not ace them, but he thinks he did pretty well on all of them.

Good luck to your son. A pity the final place didn't have free WiFi as well.

Yeah, since it was the same place as last year I was pretty sure that they would not have WiFi still. We usually won't find out how well he did on then testing until sometime in the summer.

Since the testing is done on computer he knows he passed all three, but we won't know scores until summer.
