Do You Find Yourself Without A Topic To Write About?

Have you ever found yourself struggling to find a topic to write about so you can post it here at Persona Paper? I know there have been several times that I had the time to spend writing, but I just could not come up with a topic. I got the idea for this post after reading an article here posted by WritingLover , her post was titled "Creating New Article Ideas" . In her article she gives three very good ideas on how you can go about coming up with ideas for articles.

I have a few of my own things that I use to help jump start my mind when it comes to "topic block". Here are a couple of methods I use:

1) Trending on Social Media - I tend to spend too much time on Facebook when I spare time and I see many stories that are trending on Facebook and I have gotten several good ideas to write about here for those trending stories.

2) Read new/recent articles posted here on Persona Paper - In find myself on Persona Paper quite frequently on my lunch breaks at work and much of the evenings after work and I read a lot of posts. Sometimes, the urge strikes me to write my own post after I finished reading an interesting post or one that I happen to feel strongly about.

I hope my methods or the ones WritingLover included in her post gave you some ideas that can help you.

I do sometimes have a hard time with thinking of something to write about. Another thing that will sometimes help is reading the newspaper. Sometimes, there will be something that I will want to share, or it will help me think of something.

On occasion I draw a blank literally. I found that I have had to walk away for a little while. Sometimes that blank page can be intimidating.

That is another good idea that I can use.

I can see how that can work in some situations.

Sometimes it happens, where I do have the energy and time to write, but can't think of anything. Or sometimes, I have topics to write about, but can't get the energy to do it. I usually follow stuff in my Facebook news feed (the one for my blog.)

Facebook is definitely a great resource for articles for sure.

I struggle with topics all the time so I end up writing about my life, like my busy schedule or what I did over the weekend. Whatever comes to mind really although I'd like to write topics that would interest others.

Good ideas. Sometimes I do get my ideas from current events.

Soonerdad3 wrote on April 21, 2015, 9:33 PM

Yes, there seems to be an endless supply of topics found in current events.

I seem to have a lot of topics to write about but being lazy about actually getting down to the writing part.

Soonerdad3 wrote on April 21, 2015, 11:13 PM

I can definitely understand that, I suffer from laziness frequently

You are definitely one of the lucky ones, I find myself at least once or twice a week struggling to find something to post about.

All the time. I tend to reuse the same old categories too. Guess i need to read out of my comfort zone.

When I first started at these type of revenue sharing sites a couple years ago I would only read from a select group of categories. Then I began stretching my horizons when it comes to reading.

Those are great ideas to come up with post subjects. Thanks for sharing these.

The short answer is—no. I'm much too happy to blather on about whatever is on my mind or whatever I've read. emoticon

Thanks, I am just like others here at Persona Paper, I find inspiration from other members here at Persona.

Reading articles is always very inspiring for me, as sometimes, I start leaving a comment that gets long enough to be its own post!

ViperGirl85 wrote on April 22, 2015, 5:31 PM

Oh I certainly have. That's when I usually write about what's on my mind, past experiences or upcoming events, or I look to writing challenges/prompts for help.

WritingLover wrote on April 24, 2015, 4:19 PM

Sometimes I struggle for ideas, its usually a sign that I need a break.

Soonerdad3 wrote on April 24, 2015, 4:32 PM

That is always a good source of topics to write on.

Soonerdad3 wrote on April 24, 2015, 4:33 PM

Those are all good sources for topics as well.

Soonerdad3 wrote on April 24, 2015, 4:34 PM

That is true, but unfortunately if I did that I would never write new articles

My problem is not having enough time to write everything that I want to write about. I have so many drafts and stuff that I want to write about but, unfortunately, there just isn't enough time so whenever I get ideas, I just list them/take note of them and then work on writing a complete article later on when I get more time.
