WTF News?!!! Second Edition

Second edition of WTF News?!!! - news that no one cares about but I make a post about! Here is the first edition if you care to read about it. LOL!

==========

Summer is here upon us in Manila and when summer rolls in, the greedy power companies increase their electricity rates. Just to prove a point, they conduct 'maintenance shut downs' of their power plants and impose rotating black outs across the country.

No power + sweltering summer heat = living hell!!!

==========

A high ranking government official who is currently at prison because of corruption charges successfully underwent an operation to remove a cyst. Doctors also found out that aside from the removed cyst, the patient is also missing a conscience.

I wish that corrupt official a speedy recovery. I also fervently wish that the billions that he stole from the coffers of the nation be recovered soonest. I'm not holding my breathe for it though.

==========

There's talk about turning the corrupt official turning into a state witness so he will divulge everything he knows about the corruption in the government. Oh really? State witness or not, we, the Filipino people, demand that he tells the whole truth without giving concessions to him.

It does not matter if he is the most guilty or there are more guilty parties. He stole from us and he must be prosecuted according to our laws along with the other guilty parties.

==========

If you are wondering who is the corrupt official in this post, you can pick from the town mayor, congressman, Senator, and all the way to the top government position in the land. Such is the sorry state of affairs here in my country!

***sigh***

Hopefully things will change, and your government can get some integrity back. I know it must feel hopeless sometimes.

While not as bad here in the States, I do not trust our politicians. I have become such a cynic.

And you think your country is the only one with bribable politicians?

Uhmmm, no!

I think politicians and trust are words that shouldn't go together!

The current president and his government have done a lot in the fight against corruption but his own Cabinet and partymates are facign their separate graft charges as well. Not sure if these were just made up to make him look bad.
