I Am a Free Woman Again

Taxes are finally finished and we mailed them yesterday. That means I had to begin to catch up on all I've been neglecting while I was working on taxes. About the only writing I've done is to keep up with my City Daily Photo Blog so that I won't be dropped from the network links. I've checked in here from time to time to read, comment, and respond to comments. I've also checked in at tsu and tried to respond to any blog comments I've gotten on my blogs. I've had to do my daily Twitter scheduling, as well. So just because I haven't been here much doesn't mean I've been idle. Of course, I've also had to keep up with cooking, dished, and laundry. This morning I had errands to bank, post office and shopping for food.

I have a very long to-do list. This is the beginning.

1. Plant seeds

2. Transplant seedlings bought a month ago.

3. Freshen up Pinterest boards and make better use of them.

4. Write posts on both new sites I joined.

5. Find bank bag I haven't seen in some time but didn't need until I couldn't find it today.

6. Bake something to take to memorial service for friend on Sunday

7. Take car to San Luis Obispo for routine maintenance tomorrow afternoon.

8. Catch up on three neglected blogs.

Tonight I may start a book. (To read, not write.) If I can hold off on starting it tonight, I will start it tomorrow while they are working on the car. After I start it, you may not see me until I finish it.

I took the photo. Sarah is still missing, and I'm losing hope that she will be found. This adds a layer of sadness to my life. And she isn't even my own cat – just a close feline friend.

My knee has good and bad days. I'm getting through my exercises again and can walk mostly without pain as long as I stay level most of the time and don't walk too far. I did walk two blocks today and will do the same tonight.

My world is in bloom. And I have managed to grow my first hollyhock, even though it's short. It's in the intro photo in front of my blooming lavender. That reminds me I need to post to my gardening blog again soon. I'm at least a month behind there.

I hope that brings you up to date. For those who have asked about my blog link, it's Capturing the Paso Robles Area with My Camera. I would be delighted to see your face among those who have joined my readers.

Is your cat back? I see it there in your picture. I too had a lot of issues to deal with which I finished with yesterday. I too feel liberated emoticon

This is pretty much where I am, too. I finally finished my taxes this afternoon. (Pretty much right on time for me!) With the internet switch-over and the jolt it gave to my decluttering project (I work best under deadlines I guess), then needing to concentrate on faster-paying income streams, then the time off to do my taxes, I'm so far behind on writing, not to mention laundry.

I haven't had much time for reading the last couple of weeks. I didn't know Sarah was missing. I hope she comes home. Guiness sends meows.

So good to read your update. You have quite the list of things-to-do! Remember to take relax time for you, and do all things that you enjoy, even if it is working. :)

FREE? That sounds like a very busy free to me. Of course, it feels like freedom after donating time to the government doing taxes!

BarbRad wrote on April 16, 2015, 1:53 AM

I won't answer that. I think you only look at pictures before commenting and then asked me to repeat what I already wrote in the post. You might think about reading the post to see if the answer is there before asking.

I joined Wikinut and started writing at Seekyt, which I joined years ago and never wrote anything for.

I've about given up hope she will be back. Her owners think she is gone for good, and I'm quite sure she wouldn't have just left. Kosta said she had been throwing up. I hope the cat treats didn't make her sick.

I started reading a true crime book tonight.

BarbRad wrote on April 16, 2015, 2:14 AM

I'm writing a little at Wikinut and Seekyt, but not for at least a week now. The taxes and other chores have pretty much kept me too busy to write much. Most photos do go on my blog because it's easier to put the photos in there. Still have to write that tonight.

That's just it. It's bad enough the government takes my money. I kind of resent having to give hour of my life to figuring up how much I owe them, but Hubby says that's a much better system than in some other countries.

You are really vigorous and have several writing irons in the fire .Is your hollyhock in bloom ?I remember it opens in May over here .

bestwriter wrote on April 16, 2015, 3:53 AM

I did notice it and had plans to edit my post but in the meantime you had your say.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on April 17, 2015, 1:15 AM

I doubt that would be it. If she's an outside kitty, the odds were stacked against her. Do you have coyotes or other predators?

Feisty56 wrote on April 17, 2015, 9:17 AM

You always have lots on your plate, so I'm sure it was a relief to get the taxes done so you can catch up on the rest of your life. I'm sorry to learn about Sarah being missing. Even though the odds may be against it, I hope that she returns. I would imagine her feline friend (is it Garfield?) is missing her too.

I saw the picture and hoped the cat had found her way back. I'm sorry to hear this is not the case. Poor thing.

Love your blog! I went for a peek and perused the whole page. I hope your cat friend returns!

iwrite28 wrote on April 21, 2015, 2:28 PM

Hope you get through with everything on your list here.

AliCanary wrote on April 22, 2015, 4:23 PM

I went right down to the wire with my taxes, as well, which was stupid, since I knew I would be getting a good refund, which will now be delayed because it's in with all the other stuff. Glad you are feeling freer, and I hope Sarah will come back.

BarbRad wrote on April 23, 2015, 6:51 PM

Yes. We often hear coyote concerts, but I haven't been there after dark since I've been living in Paso Robles and sleeping here, so I don't know if they were around when she disappeared. She may have been sick, since she had been throwing up on our porch.

BarbRad wrote on April 23, 2015, 6:52 PM

It is blooming and now has several flowers. My larger plant should be blooming soon, since it has lots of buds.

BarbRad wrote on April 23, 2015, 6:54 PM

Don't they reseed? Everyone tells me once you have one they keep coming back.

BarbRad wrote on April 23, 2015, 6:55 PM

I don't know if Garfield misses her or not. He still hangs around. I wish he could talk. Maybe he knows what happened to Sarah.

BarbRad wrote on April 23, 2015, 6:56 PM

I fear she's dead, and it does make me sad. She was also a good hunter.

BarbRad wrote on April 23, 2015, 6:57 PM

My list never ends because I keep adding to it.

We had to pay through the nose this year after years of not having to pay. This year will be worse, because we sold the building and have a capital gain.
