Introduction for deafdiva

Hey guys! I am Michelle Ayers and I was born deaf. My parents found out about Cued Speech which is a communication method based on phonemes. It is not sign language as a lot of people think. I also know a bit of sign language. I love walking downtown and going into the used bookstores! I also love going to coffee shops especially the one downtown. But I also love the cinnamon dolce lattes from Starbucks and mocha fraps from McDonalds! I work part time at a law firm. I am very lucky because my boss also has a deaf son who uses Cued Speech so he knows Cued Speech too! It is a real blessing! I also love my coworkers!

Welcome aboard. You will find this site to be full of interesting people (and a few cats!). You may want to connect with elitecodex and MaeLou - they are site owners and keep us up-to-date with site news and upgrades via regular posts. I used to haunt the used bookstores in my home town when I was younger. They are wonderful places.

A very warm welcome to Persona Paper Michelle. I admire your spirit and resilience and I hope you can share more about your childhood and your experience with cued speech. This would help many other people who sometimes need inspiration.

Welcome to Persona Paper! I hope you will enjoy it here. Sounds like you have a great job. Used bookstores are wonderful places to hang out and mocha fraps are lovely, but both have hidden dangers. I think we'll be investing in another bookcase soon. And if I don't spend more time walking, I may end up investing in more clothes, too. emoticon
