Journal 04-13-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Monday April 13, 2015. The temperature is 55.4°F and the humidity is 85% at 5:22 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0 mph. The sky was clear when I looked out this morning. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 79 today.

I suggested a walk around the park nearby the house yesterday and Mr. Siduri one-upped me to a walk in a regional park. It’s not far, but I was surprised because every time I’ve suggested a walk there lately, it’s somehow not come to pass. It’s on the end of nowhere and lots of people own stables there. We met not only people flying down off hills on bikes, but several groups of people on horseback. And probably half a dozen people, mostly on bikes, with little Go-Pro cameras.

The weather was nice, but just a bit warm for me. Mr. Siduri was loving it, the lizard.

Used the little fanny pack the neighbors gave us. The closing tab broke. Mr. Siduri fixed it with a tie wrap so I’ll take it when we go camping.

We also met a pair of women walking a cat. It was the oddest thing. The cat was in a harness. They said he would walk up to four miles. He appeared to be a Siamese mix, but with tapered ears and a flat face. He also had thicker fur than most Siamese. They told me that he was freaking out that day and had probably smelled a predator. I assured them I wasn’t going to get any closer to him or try to pet him. Last thing they need was a cat who was already freaking out being driven to distraction by a stranger. There may been some bobcat or mountain lion urine around. They also said that he usually sprays everything in sight but hadn’t stopped to spray once while they were out there. He also will try to attack horses. I can see where that might be a problem if he ran across a nervous horse.

With regard to walking, I walked 1.96 miles yesterday, bringing my total to 15.75 miles, which leaves me with a mere 84.29 miles to go in the Challenge, with idea of walking .

Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy.

So. Writing schedule. Do all the stuff I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of days now, particularly the Examiner review:

1. Review Poems of Heaven and Hell from Ancient Mesopotamia for Examiner.

2. Continue Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil .

3. Read and review a section from World Poetry.

Sounds like a wonderful place to walk in. I have seen cats leash trained but never tried it myself.

It is a wonderful place to walk. We were seriously considering getting married there. They didn't have any time slot open until August, though, and we wanted to get married in March. I have seen cats leach on city streets, but never in a regional park like this where mountain lions and bobcats are known to be seen. And I can't imagine a domestic housecat trying to attack a horse.
