Nervous! Gestational Diabetes Test Tomorrow

So far this is the part of pregnancy that I have been dreading the most. My glucose tolerance test is tomorrow and I'm nervous for the results.

I'm SO not a cooking/planning/creating meals person. I don't have a horrible diet, but I hate measuring things, and tracking things and stuff like that and if I have to do that due to gestational diabetes these last 3 months of pregnancy are going to seem FOREVER long. It's not even sweets and sugar that I would miss (although I WILL miss my one pepsi a day) but it's the hassle that would come with it.

I also don't even want to fail this first 1 hour test because I have heard HORRIFIC things about the three hour test. People say it's bsically torture on earth to drink that drink then have your blood drawn three times all on a fast, etc.

So please, think happy happy thoughts for me tomorrow ok? I'll post an update tomorrow night.

I hope all goes well for you. Sugar and too many carbs are not good for anyone, whether pregnant or not and soda drinks are not good at all, whether diet or original. I can't say anything about the testing, have never had that ) but in terms of diet, provided you kept the carbs low (no potatoes, rice, bread or pasta) would you still have to measure everything else?

Okay so I delivered four weeks ago and even though I was lucky enough to avoid the gestational diabetes thing I was knocked a bit by high blood pressure. Shame hun, I hope you're okay. Gestational diabetes is not something to play with.

Yes, you have to measure very carefully, even on a perfect diet, some with gd are insulin dependent. The thing is I passed the test! So this at least is not a concern!

I'm doing fine. I passed the test, don't even have to take the 3 hour. Of course I'll continue to monitor my diet, but I'm happy to know i dont' have to carefully measure anything and can have an occasional treat now and then. So far my blood pressure has been good, hoping it stays that way!
