Tidying Up My Pinterest Boards

It's been a while since I paid too much notice to my Pinterest Boards. An article written here by someone the other day, sorry I've forgotten who, reminded me of their existence. So this morning, being a rather wet Sunday, I wandered on over to take a look at the state of my page there. It seems I've given myself a little project for the rest of the day, tidying things up there, deleting a few pins and adding a few more.

I haven't really bothered much about Pinterest before, but notice there are several Persona Paper writers there, so maybe it's time to organise my life a little more. I love the way the pins are displayed on category boards of your choice. I've just taken a few out, but you can add your work from all the various places you have a presence and it's all there displayed in one place. It's certainly another outlet for gaining views.

So, this is going to be another of my works in progress. Maybe I'll see some of your posts appearing pinned there as well.

The Persona Paper Pinterest board I started a while ago quickly became overwhelmed with the amount of posts I was pinning - and that was in the early days when we had well under 1000 members! I must revisit it and do what you are doing - tidy it up!

Kasman I did actually come across you there this morning emoticon  I've taken out a lot of Bubblews posts that were pinned there and created a Persona Paper board as well.

Kasman I know what you mean about cluttered, i'm going to be selective!

I was thinking of posting PP posts to my Pinterest board for a month or so and then deleting them to make room for more but if I did that it would wipe out some interesting stuff.

I use RebelMouse for a similar show using keywords linked to my Twitter feed. I really don't like Pinterest because they will not let me look at a board without asking me to sign up. I don't WANT to sign up, I just want to look at boards on occasion.

I deleted most of my Bubblews stuff this morning. Not much left there at the moment, but I'm working on it emoticon  do you have the same name &AbbyG on there?

valmnz wrote on April 11, 2015, 7:17 PM

I signed up years ago, but only recently have I worked out what I'm supposed to be doing.

valmnz wrote on April 11, 2015, 7:20 PM

Yes, I was thinking much the same, keeping the ones that may attract readership. A lot of my posts here are definitely not worth putting on, this is where I ramble emoticon

I too have pinned there occasionally but I really do not know the purpose of this site.

I've found, when i was on Bubblews, it does seem to attract extra views. However, I'm just enjoying getting myself organised and playing today emoticon

At the moment I write only for Persona and Persona does not recognise outside views for Indians. May be our blogs might get a few views. Have you thought about that?

valmnz wrote on April 11, 2015, 8:14 PM

bestwriter My blog is still a long way from attracting views, it's time will come.

I have been meaning to create a Pinterest account but haven't done so. I'm like a deer in headlights with such platform! I really need a tutorial... fast!

Tidying up is a tedious process. It's not automated. I used to share a lot of Squidoo lenses. When Squidoo was acquired by HUBPages, almost all my pins had to edited with the new HUBPages links. It was work!!

allen0187 I was pretty hit and miss there at first, which is why I didn't use it much. It's like all sites, you learn as you go along!

cmoneyspinner I didn't have enough there to make it tedious. I rather enjoyed the process of getting more organised.

My enthusiasm for Pinterest definitely comes and goes. I should probably drop by there sometime soon.

valmnz wrote on April 12, 2015, 12:15 AM

DarkSinistar it was a nice diversion today, from writing and doing other things I should have been doing.

It only doesn't recognise outside views coming FROM India. If you get outside views from the USA and GB I understand you should be ok. Pinterest would be a way to get some of those.

Thanks. You are right. But there is work to be done. Pinterest does not immediately post it as is the case with FB and other sites

I guess I need to start checking mine out more. Had never thought about that.

I have barely used my Pinterest boards. Just this morning I went over there to update some of my pins and pin several newer things I had written because I keep reading that Pinterest is really good for bringing traffic.

valmnz wrote on April 12, 2015, 3:40 PM

StaceyWrites I don't know if it's my imagination or not, but after doing that yesterday I had a bumper day as far as the number of coins earned goes. It's worth a try.
