Homemaker Mom - not just for homemakers or moms

I’m always happy to find useful and informative websites. The Homemaker’s Journey blog at is not only for homemakers, interior decorators, crafters and moms. It also offers a raft of information to couponers, saving mavens and anyone who enjoys domestic pursuits such as cooking and trying out new products, or new flavors and fragrances of trusted brands.

The site has tips on saving money, contains product reviews, ideas and , among other things. Homemaker Mom is accredited as a member of the Hormel Extended Family and Booklook bloggers and is a member of the Influenster word of mouth network. This means plenty of new products to review and heaps of information for stay-at-home moms. Suzie, the website's owner, has been blogging for around three years but has built a site stuffed full of amazing resources, tips, tricks and reviews. She provides local visitor information for the Raleigh, NC area too, as well as inspiring interior décor ideas, as if all of the above wasn't enough.

The coupons on the site have me green with envy; being a Brit I can't access them. I have discovered several new review and sites which I am eligible to join though, so I will be filling out membership forms in the next few days. To give an idea of the variety available here, the most recent posts on The Homemaker’s Journey blog are:

  • A pork tenderloin recipe
  • Interior décor ideas
  • The latest news from Hormel
  • A review of Dial Miracle Oil Hand Soap and giveaway
  • A review of Purex ScentSplash In-Wash Crystals and giveaway
  • A review of Dial Boutique Collection and giveaway
  • A chicken teriyaki recipe
  • Tips on making over a bathroom in a rental property on a budget

A variety, as I’m sure you’ll agree. The Media Kit link gives more information on Suzie and her blog, as well as quick links to representative areas of the site and access to a contact form. The Saving Money and More link offers coupons, review/survey sites and other useful links. The associated page, Making Extra Money at Home , contains information on Influenster word of mouth marketing site plus other franchise and work-from-home opportunities. Free are always a bonus and in the case of Influenster, members grow their social networks too.

The thing about sites like these is that they introduce readers to new ideas, links and groups. This is where the Link Up Parties page comes in on this blog. Here, readers will find lists of blogs organised by day of the week, giving something new to read every day. On the Blogs I Love page there is more of the same, only this time simply bloggers who post as they feel the need, rather than to set themes and days.

I have spent several hours trawling through this site and exploring the wealth of information provided. No matter your interest, there seems to be something here for you. It’s one of those sites that you may well wonder ‘how did I get this far without knowing about it before?’.

Thank you for the heads up. I would love to find a site with free cross stitch patterns and instructions.

Suzie may well know of one, that's for sure. She seems to know most things about home making and crafting. Quite puts me to shame! Google just gave me a list when I typed in 'free cross stitch patterns and instructions' too. Seems like there's even a page on about.com with links to free patterns as well as lots of specialist sites.
