Monument of heroism
More than 2 months after the bloody operation of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) in the province of Maguindanao to serve the warrant of arrest to international terrorist Marwan, a monument of their heroism was unveiled today at the Philippine National Police Academy at Silang, Cavite.
The operation was successful but it resulted to the loss of 44 SAF lives. Marwan was killed, but 44 SAF members were massacred by members of 2 groups of rebels, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Bangsamoro Freedom Fighters.
The SAF are the elite members of the PNP. They are well equipped and well trained but on that day, 25 January 2015, the SAF were just outnumbered. They were attacked by hundreds of rebels.
Their heroism is now symbolized by a monument.

It's always good to honor our heroes. And thank you for writing about this because I don't recall hearing anything about this incident on our news media.

This is something I didn't know about. I'm glad to see you here. You've been MIA for a while. I have been wondering how you are.
