One – Two – Three – Coffee!

One – two – three. That's how my kids remember how to make me a cup of coffee.
-
One teaspoon of instant coffee.
-
Two teaspoons of sugar. Real sugar!
-
Three heaping teaspoons of coffee creamer.
Every once in a while throw in a dash of cinnamon .
Ever watch the movie “Giant” (1956) starring Rock Hudson ( Jordan 'Bick' Benedict Jr. ), Elizabeth Taylor ( Leslie Benedict , Jordan's young bride from the East – the “country” on the other side of the United States miles away from Texas, which is its own “country” :) ), and James Dean ( Jett Rink )? True timeless classic. Somebody is always asking questions about favorite movies and it's always a tough question for me to answer. But this is definitely one of them. One of the scenes any viewer must remember vividly is when Jett served Mrs. Leslie a cup of tea . She was ever so grateful to receive it because all the folks in Texas drink gallons and gallons of coffee . At the time I lived in South Florida and had never been to Texas. But now that I live in Texas, I can state unequivocally that wasn't just a line for the movie script! Texans love their coffee!!
So now for the big question of the day.
- Marshmallows or whip cream??
Which one do you like on your cup of hot chocolate?
You can't be in both camps. It is forbidden. You must choose!
Relax. You have the rest of spring and all of summer to make a decision.
Happy Thursday to the FOPP !!

cmoneyspinner Well, I am a big coffee drinker also. I love my fresh coffee. But I am no fan of instant coffee. No way. I love the real deal. I won a Keurig machine and I buy the pods. I love my coffee strong as well. And no, I do not use any sugar or cream. Black. That's the ay coffee was intended to be enjoyed.

Without a doubt there is no substitute for freshly brewed coffee. Instant coffee is a modern convenience. :)

There is no right or wrong answer. But I'm in the whipped cream camp myself. :)

cmoneyspinner It maybe an old modern convenience. Fresh coffee is more popular today than ever.

Cream. Has to be, as I loathe marshmallows with a passion.

Actually I like my hot chocolate just as it comes. Coffee isn't my favourite drink (but then I'm not a Texan) but I much prefer tea.

Darn. I'm in both camps. I won't refuse either. If I must choose, though, I pick marshmallows.
cmoneyspinner wrote on April 9, 2015, 7:34 PM
Yes. But you need a coffee brewer and the one I have doesn't work very well. Gonna have to put it on my Christmas Wish List.

&AbbyG , WordChazer , Kasman , BarbRad – Whew! Battles lines are clear to see! People are ready to defend their choices. :) We all friends here! You come over to my place, I'll try to make sure there's coffee, tea, soda, juice and plain old Adam's ale (water). :)

cmoneyspinner I have the Keurig coffee maker and I love it. It makes the perfect cup of coffee every time.

I use real sugar, but I prefer to use evaporated milk instead of creamer for coffee.
1cmoneyspinner wrote on April 10, 2015, 11:25 AM
Yes it does. I have had the pleasure of the experience. Fortunately ... I know people. :)
cmoneyspinner wrote on April 10, 2015, 11:28 AM
I wondered if anybody would mention evaporated milk. That's what we used BEFORE they invented coffee creamers. And here's what happened. I got so used to the taste of the “artificial” creamers – cause that's what they are. FAKES!! But I got so used to the taste that I no longer like the taste of evaporated milk in my coffee. See what evolution does to the human race!! :) { It's Friday. I'm in a wacky mood. Try to be patient with me. My mood swing will pass. :) }

I should also add the rider that my insides are allergic to coffee, but I do drink hot chocolate. Usually with whip cream on and served by a barista...
1cmoneyspinner wrote on April 10, 2015, 6:42 PM
Per Wikipedia:
"A barista (/bəˈristə/ buh-REE-stuh; from the Italian for "bartender") is a person, usually a coffeehouse employee, who prepares and serves espresso-based coffee drinks."
Had to look that up! Thank you for educating me. i just love global communities! :)

If I have to choose, I choose marshmallows.
1I am a coffee drinker and proud of it, LOL. Americans get the majority of their antioxidants from coffee. Who am I to go against good health.
