Your Favorite Toy

i was browsing through some of my old stuff at my folk's home and was pleasantly surprised to see some of my old toys. included were my lego pack, gi joes, he man action figures, and a couple of robot action figures that are still in good condition with their boxes and accessories.the thought of selling these old toys in my online shop came to mind but i'd rather hold on to these for their sentimental value rather than their perceived monetary value. mind you, some of these toys go to the thousands when properly showcased to the right set of buyers. plus, add the fact that they don't make toys like these nowadays, and i could be holding on a potential gold mine.

among all the toys that i mentioned above, the lego is probably my most favorite. lego, certainly lived up to its name in my book. lego is actually an abbreviation of two danish words, 'leg godt', meaning 'play well'. i certainly played well with my lego pieces, often times, creating things straight out of my imagination!

so what was/were your favorite toy/toys when you were a child?

I had matchbox cars and horses. My barbies, when Mom tried buying them, lost their heads

I don't have any toys from when I was a pre-teen. I do, however, have a lot of Star Wars action figures that I started collecting when I was 15 years old. Most of those are no longer in mint condition. I also have many of the newer Hasbro Star Wars collectibles; almost all of them are in their packaging.

When I was a kid my most favourite toy was actually, my brother's remote-controlled car! lol :) But when he won;t let me play with it, I'll just stick with my piano cake :)

I threw everything out when we shifted. Our new house is smaller, and no place for sentimental items.

Ok. So any memories of your favorite toys scheng1 ?

Hopefully, you make a post about your Star Wars collection. I'm a big fan and I'm thinking of starting a collection myself.

Remote controlled cars are always a big hit among kids!

That's a curious mix, matchbox cars, horses, and Barbie dolls!

I used to have (and still have some) a huge collection of cuddly toys. We had Lego for a while as well, but my mum used to complain about standing on it.

Cuddly teddy bears and LEGO. I still have both and just bought another pot of pick-a-bricks on Thursday. I am unable to pass a LEGO store without indulging and my super-large abstract sculpture is slowly growing on my lounge table. dragonfairy1 I have a preference for the smaller bits of LEGO so standing on them is an occupational hazard. My favorite teddy bear is still alive and well and sitting on my bed, one Poley by name, a polar bear, now rather grey and going bald, but still much loved. I also had Matchbox cars too, which I enjoyed playing with, and a collection of Breyer ornamental horses which will be displayed again just as soon as I find somewhere to put them.

We'll see.

One of my friends gave me a small model of Darth Vader's Super Star Destroyer, Executor, and a Hasbro MicroMachines Action Fleet Republic Assault Ship (a pre-Empire prototype of the Imperial Star Destroyer) for my birthday.
