Vacation At Villa Escudero - Life is a Poker Game

So I'm back from my vacation at Villa Escudero. It is one of the more popular spots down south here in the Philippines. It located at the boundary of two provinces, Laguna and Quezon. It was originally a sugarcane plantation that was converted into a coconut plantation. It opened to the public in 1981 and in no time at all, Villa Escudero became a prime tourist destination for both local and foreign vacationers alike. The resort boasts of a church, a number of swimming pools, a museum, and a number of activities ranging from fishing to river rafting to cultural shows. One can also experience living in rural village and seeing first hand how coconuts are harvested. Another highlight is eating by the man-made waterfalls. You get to enjoy sumptuous buffet featuring local cuisines while the cold water from the waterfalls gushes around your bare feet and legs. Word of caution though, the area nearer to the waterfalls is quite slippery. Anyway, I'll talk more about that in a different post. Another word of caution, my next couple of posts will be about my Villa Escudero vacation so you've been warned!

Anyway, my vacation, wasn't really planned nor was it well-thought of. I was feeling impulsive Sunday night so I decided to go on a short vacation. Deciding where to go was really a no-brainer as I've been meaning to go to Villa Escudero since last year. Picking out who to take was a harder choice though. Do I pick someone who I know will go out with me in a whim eventhough secretly she is a far second choice or do I gamble on inviting the one person who I really like to spend some quality time with but has her own set of priorities? Anyway, I made some calls and I said to myself that I'll play with the cards I'm dealt with. Poker as it is with life is how it is played so I wouldn't argue with fate.

Monday morning, we set off to Villa Escudero. The trip going there was uneventful or so I thought. Stop over at a local gas station with breakfast of sausage and egg sandwich with hot choco with some conversation about random things in life and a heartfelt thanks for being invited was served to me. First day of a vacation and I'm already happy...

I would always at least try my first choice first. You never know unless you give it a shot, right?

Already the pressures of our world are slipping off your shoulders. A good holiday does us the world of good.

Agree with you AliCanary . Always go with the first choice. If we do not ask, the answer will always be 'no'.

Everybody needs a good holiday Kasman . I try to treat myself to one every two to three months. Otherwise, I'll go more insane! LOL!
