Journal 04-02-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Thursday April 2, 2015. The temperature is 54.4°F and the humidity is 82% at 5:08 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0 mph. The sky was mostly clear when I stuck my head out. The moon had set behind the neighbor’s house so there was a bright glow on their roof. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 78 today.

I’ve fallen way behind in my writing schedule, both here and at Examiner. I got my two-week naughty notice from Examiner the other day. I’m working on a review for Examiner and will post it there today, then work on catching up here, doing two days’ worth of work until I’m caught up. It shouldn’t be too hard.

I had a drive on Tuesday and another on Wednesday. The drive on Tuesday was particularly long. I got a lot of reading done. But I just had to get out and walk around the parking lot several times while I was waiting on Tuesday.

Boy, getting married is not cheap. Even the government gets it cut. The license was $61. Now we have to pay to get a copy of the certificate. We can get one by mail or go down to the courthouse and pay in person. We need the certificate if we ever want to prove that we’re legally married. And if we want more than one copy, we have to pay for that. The certificate is only another $15, but come on!

My stomach has been upset since last night. It’s not enough to register more than an annoyance, but I haven’t felt like eating much. It bothers Mr. Siduri when he cooks, but that’s as far as it gets.

Noticed a couple of bumps on Gremlin’s face around his eyes and nose yesterday. Thought they could be scratches or maybe parasites. Took him to the vet’s. Her thought was that he was in a cat fight. Not outside the realm of possibility, but his usual battle strategy is retreat. They cleaned his face and shot him full of antibiotic. A mere $163.

Other than that, no news. Everything has pretty much returned to normal.

Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all happy and healthy. Hope the day brings you good things.

Writing schedule:

1. Before I do anything else, finish Examiner review of Lieck’s Mesopotamia and post it on Examiner.

2. Continue Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil .

3. Spend an hour with Siegfried.

4. Select another book for next Examiner review

5. Review “This is Not a Love Song.”

6. Read and review Lovecraft’s “The Street.”

It sounds like everyone is wanting your money right now. Hope things improve soon.

The government gets their cut of everything, don't they? I shudder to think what I've paid for copies of documents misplaced over the years.

Oh, yeah! And I have so much of it....

msiduri wrote on April 2, 2015, 10:01 AM

They sure do! Let's not ever begin to discuss the check I had to take to the post office before April 15th!

How long before we realize that the government is the biggest crook in history?

I hope your stomach problem is resolved now. Will taking a charcoal pill help?

msiduri wrote on April 3, 2015, 8:42 AM

I think we realize it. It's just that there's so little we can do about it. emoticon

msiduri wrote on April 3, 2015, 8:43 AM

It's resolved, thanks. I don't know what was bothering it. Maybe it was just feeling grumpy.

It must be something you eat. I once had this problem when I drank a packet of mango juice.

Entirely possible. I like spicy food. Sometimes I forget that I'm not 25 anymore.

I love spicy food too. I cook Tomyam soup for lunch this afternoon.
