Advice Given To Me

Write what you know. Write in the third person, now that one was hard for me to grasp. I now liken it to write like you're narrating? I imagine that advice is more for novels right? Mostly I write what I'm most amused with at any particular moment. In actuality I am not even a writer, I am a blogger, without a home! Some have suggested I am a writer, I just blush and thank them for their words of encouragement. Yes, I'm talking about my Momma! I write her snail mail letters to give her something to do, she's 82 and loves reading my letters over and over. I don't even think that counts does it? Emoji
With that said I have thought of something fun to do among us, I've seen this done before and it was so much fun reading all the different short stories that came out with one picture. I suggest we as a community, post a picture we can title it Short Story Challenges and then we can all submit a short story that captures the picture in our own minds eye. Fun Huh, Lets do it!
See this challenge is two fold for me, one, I get to read some great stories, and two, I might learn something!! I will post the first picture and story soon! Or, someone can beat me to it!! Emoji

I always write from my own experience so my posts are normally written in the first person.

it is a great thing that you care enough to write snail mail letters to your mother.I know the post is about a picture and writing a short story. But I know how happy she is to receive letters from you.I am waiting for the story from you.

Wow that is so cool to have that kind of sweet relationship you have there for your mom. God bless, and about the challenge I can't promise but I will try if I have time, I'll tag you with it. God bless and have a great day.

I just read crowntower's answer to this challenge, and I would like to try it myself. :)

writing about what you know I agree with but you don't have to be restricted to first or third person point of view - that depends on the story

Third person? Sigh...I find this so hard lol, so good luck to us both. I like your idea though! I am going to try it as soon as I find the right picture. Look forward to playing.

May the best man win...

Yeah, if you're writing stories, the advice is that it's best to write in the third person but it's not really a requirement. Many people write in the first person or even in the second person and they make it work.
