I need your help!

I have decided to put some other development items on hold in lieu of tracking down this spacing bug once and for all. The bad news? I can't find any examples!

Heather has indicated that this seems to be a fairly common complaint lately so I figured it would be an easy task. Not so much. This is where I need your help.

I am asking that anyone who has a post with spacing issues, ones that you edited to fix and still the spacing issue remains to post the link to that article here. I need something to develop against to find out exactly what is going on. The more the merrier, as it could be caused from more than one issue.

Thanks everyone!

I used to encounter that but I just do the spacing manually.

It is good news that the spacing bug is to be tracked and fixed. Will definitely bring it to your notice as and when this happens.

wolfgirl569 wrote on March 29, 2015, 10:36 PM

I will let you know if I have it happen

allen0187 wrote on March 29, 2015, 10:43 PM

Can't help you in this regard as I haven't encountered the error myself. I will keep an eye on it and post a link when I get one.

This post has what you are looking for (Bubblewsworries)

When I go to edit mode these words are not stuck there!!!!

BeadDoodler wrote on March 30, 2015, 7:58 AM

I haven't had any of these problems, but I'll be sure to let you know if I do.

scheng1 wrote on March 30, 2015, 8:51 AM

I do not have this problem too. Perhaps it affects those who use their cellphones to publish a post.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 30, 2015, 11:02 AM

Oh, fun, fun. I've encountered it many times, but of course I don't know where any of them are off the top of my head. I'll keep and eye out and let you know the next time I see it.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 30, 2015, 11:03 AM

That's the same issue I've had. In edit mode, it's fine. I've tried adding an extra space but it doesn't work.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 30, 2015, 11:04 AM

It's happened to me multiple times and I've never used a cell phone to post.

Kasman wrote on March 30, 2015, 1:55 PM

OldRoadsOnceTraveled - I delete the words on either side of the 'missing' space and retype them. This fixes it.

Kasman wrote on March 30, 2015, 2:00 PM

This post http :// www . personapaper . com / article / 27923 - come - and - climb - with - me has an issue with paragraph spacing. It is a long post and after the first full-size photograph the paragraph spacing disappears - normal line spacing is then used between paragraphs.

When I find word spaces missing I retype the words on either side of the 'missing' space and that fixes the problem.

PS: header images are still being dropped when I edit a post!

I don't have problem with the spacing issue... but maybe the complaints is merely on -- when the system don't put spaces... I think it happens to me too... but I just do it manually and t went fine. Sometimes the system don't load properly that's why --- if I am correct, people should be patient or just refresh the tab and wait for a minute before they can paste their content or type in their content. God bless.... I think if that is the problem... we just have to refresh it... or rewrite the coding regards to the spacing... Sometimes when I do a program... the syntax is correct but there is something that makes the program flow so rough so what I do, is to re-write the whole program in that feature then save it. Heheheh.. God bless.

This post by CoralLevang , right after yours on the home page, has a lot of spacing issues in the first few paragraphs : http :// personapaper . com / article / 28254 - the - 11 - question - challenge

This is one of mine that has issues (Under Languages, the line "I can speak some Hindi" continues to run together, despite repeated attempts to edit it: http :// personapaper . com / article / 27131 - two - truths - and - one - lie - about - me

I have several articles with that problem. When I find them, I go back in and add an extra space. It is annoying, though. Here's one: http :// personapaper . com / article / 16788 - my - christmas - cactus - has - survived

It's in the 2nd line of the first paragraph under the subheading Recovery Was Immediate. Also that subheading will not stay in place at the left margin above the paragraph it is for. There should be a space between "my" and "daily":

"Early November arrived, and I began mydaily watch for the tiny specs that would become the flower buds."

Another problem I've had consistently is that whenever I edit an article, the Article Image is removed. If I have recently uploaded an article image, then I edit another article, the most recently uploaded image is substituted for the one that was already in place. This happened with 3 articles today. Please help.

Only spacing issues I notice are when html puts an nbsp in between my words. And I can fix that happily. I write in Word, on Chrome on an Acer laptop and I always check my posts in html at some point after I've drafted them, even if it's the first time I've really read them after typing and maybe 20 minutes after they're live.

I believe I have found the issue. Let me know if you run into it again.

elitecodex wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:33 PM

This is a new one on me, but thanks for letting me know. Something I definitely need to look into.

elitecodex wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:33 PM

I believe I found the issue - can you let me know if you run into it again. It seems to be fixed on all the examples submitted here - thanks for your help!

elitecodex wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:35 PM

Thanks for letting me know - I believe that I have fixed the spacing issue and the image issue you are talking about is another common complaint that will be on my radar soon. Let me know if you run into this again, and I will look into the article image issue. Thanks again for your help.

elitecodex wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:35 PM

Yep, that is exactly the issue... I was mistakenly removing that character during the filter. Should be fixed now though - if you run into the issue again let me know. Thanks for the heads up!

AliCanary wrote on March 30, 2015, 11:53 PM

Cool, thanks!

I am glad it is all sorted out. Thanks.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 31, 2015, 12:10 PM

Kasman - I'll try that next time.

May I request your good heart elitecodex and MaeLou to bring back my account. To lift from suspended to blogger so that I can actively participate in posting. Thanks and more power to PP.

It only happens on my tablet. I can fix it if I go to my desktop. Today I'm having a submitting issue.

Deema wrote on May 2, 2015, 3:05 PM

I had this issue only when typing somewhere else, for example MS Word and then pasting it onto the site. I have not done it in a while due to the issue, but I will try now and see what happens.

irenen1 wrote on June 14, 2015, 11:46 AM

Both of these are having a spacing issue. I have tried editing but the paragraphs won't carry over when published, just in draft.

If by the space bug you mean what I think you mean -- a space between the last word of a sentence and the punctuation, followed by no space then the next sentence's introductory word (as if the software was dyslexic), check out the comments under the introduction to Jiangliu1949. We banter back and forward about it until I realized what was going on and drew my conclusion.
