Sound of Silence
It is quite late here in my part of the world.
My children and hubby are all fast asleep and I am quietly typing on the keyboard to quickly post some comments and posts on Persona Paper.
This is probably the only time in my home when there is some peace and quiet but even then there is no complete silence.
I can hear the neighbors' dog barking, the clock is going tick tock and my baby girl is snoring a bit because she has a stuffy nose.
Sometimes I hear creaks outside which is probably due to the cold temperatures and an overhead airplane. But thankfully no TV or kitchen machines or bells or phone ringtones.
Sometimes I stay awake at night just to listen to the sound of silence...and eat an occasional brownie that I have kept hidden from my children

My favourite time when everyone is sleeping and the only noise is the snoring of the dogs.

Enjoy that brownie and time to yourself! As an adult my son told me all my hiding places from one house we lived in. You can't have secrets from kids!

This reminds me of last night when I went to the gate at 1am because our neighbor’s dog kept on barking. I sprayed it with water. That stopped the barking.

Haha! I understand what you mean. Seven children of mine, and yours , four, is pretty much a 'welcome-to-the-club' motherly-things between us. I love the silence and freedom I enjoy at night.

It is to get that sound of silence that we shifted here from the madding crowd of the Metro
There is just one nuisance and that is this guy who accelerates his bullet bike that can shatter even a 6" glass 
No complaints have worked. His father is very rich and he pays to suppress the complaints.

Silence is golden. . .especially when you live in a house with small children. Silence is my favorite thing, but sometimes I wonder about the creaks and groans of my house. I wonder if it'll out last me.

I find it hard to awake at night and writing like I used to do before with BB. Every time I set alarm on 3am or before, it never awakes me!

My place does not enjoy complete silence too. The road is always busy, even in the middle of the night.
