Mountains of the Smokies

My husband and I visited the Great Smoky Mountains National Park again yesterday. It was only a day trip, but it was fun. We had planned to hike one trail, but they had the road to it closed at first so we chose another trail. It ended up being a good one. I will post photos from the trail hike later. First, I wanted to share some photos of the actual mountains. It was cool that they had snow on their tops. Very pretty.

This is the Chimney Tops. You have panoramic views from up there. The trail to them is very steep. We haven't tried it yet.

This next mountain is called Sugarland Mountain we believe. It looks like it on the map anyway. I loved how the snow looked on the trees of this one.

And this one we don't know the name of. I stitched together some shots to for a panoramic for this one. My husband really likes it.

Hope y'all like the photos. We definitely had fun at the Smoky Mountains yesterday.

Those are lovely photos! I'd like to go mountain climbing and trekking during my vacation. Hopefully, I can squeeze it in.

Beautiful shots. Wish I was there. That has to be Sugarland Mountain because it looks covered by powdered sugar.

Those are beautiful photos. I've never been to the Smokies when there was snow. I was in Pigeon Forge in September, but the leaves hadn't changed yet. All we had time for was one quick run up US 441 to the North Carolina line and back. Wish I had time and gas money to go on a photo drive this spring.

Thank you. I hope you get out in the mountains. We love going to the Smokies.

We've been twice now when they had some snow left, but most of it was gone. Just on the mountains and sides of the roads. Still, it is pretty. I hope you can make at least one trip this spring.

Now that's my kind of hike! I love the hills when there is snow on the tops - just enough to be interesting but not too much so as to prevent us climbing them.
