Update on My Health

First, I have to share the good news, because it is really good news! According to the echocardiogram I had today, I DO NOT have pulmonary hypertension. That is big, y'all. I have enough going on that I really didn't need to deal with PH. I am so thankful for this blessing. The tech said she has no idea why my number was so high last time, but today it was only 22, which is normal. I don't care why. I'm just glad for the miracle.

I still have the hole in my heart, leaky valves, mitral valve prolapse, high diastolic pressure and electrical problems, but those are easier to deal with. I will be talking with the new lung and heart doctors I'll see next month about what is causing the shortness of breath since it's not pulmonary hypertension.

The bad news is that my liver function tests were the worst they've ever been. My ALT is almost four times normal and my AST is twice normal. I was surprised because I thought cleaning up my diet even more would help, but it hasn't yet. The tests were actually worse than four months ago.

I have to go back in two months and have more blood tests done to try and get to the bottom of it. Hopefully, by that time, the diet will have more of an impact and things will be better.

My thyroid is also suppressed again since the doc upped my meds. It does that and then when we lower the meds it goes the other way. Gotta find a balance there.

Anyway, that's all that's new right now. Hope y'all are doing well.

That is definitely true in my case. I am so happy with the results today.

You take care of yourself, you hear? It's good that whatever is causing the shortness of breath is not pulmonary hypertension, at least. I'm sure the docs will eventually get to the bottom of it all for you. That's what they spend all thesse years studying for, after all.

Yeah. It could be asthma if I really have that or the sleep apnea or the medication or just because I'm fat...lol We'll figure it out.

It's ok. I've been dealing with most of it for years now. I just take one day at a time and do what I can to enjoy life the best I can.

What a scary condition you are in - a hole in the heart.

I'm still saying prayers for you and your family.

Thank God for good news. I hope the liver function turns around and everything else improves.

Thank you. I was too.

It's not a big deal because mine is small. 30% of people have it and it usually causes no problems. We just have to take Aspirin so if we have a blood clot it will not stay in the heart but pass to the lungs.

Thank you.I do appreciate it.

Thank you, me too. I'm doing what I can to make it happen.

angelsharum doctors sometimes diagnose asthma, when it's actually vocal cord dysfunction. Singing lessons can help with that or breathing and throat exercises based on singing lessons.

sorry to hear that you have so many organ problems, praying that you may recover soon

The lung doc I saw before said the pulmonary function test showed that my lungs don't empty completely of air when I breathe out. That's why he said I have asthma. I am seeing a new doc in April and will know more then.

Thank you. It does seem worse when I write everything down together. I still have a couple organs without problems. :)
