First World Problems

Let me say that I do not consider myself living in a first world country. Far from it. Although the local mouthpiece of the government say that the economy is getting better, one needs to be careful in believing one's own hype machine.

It does not mean that I can't have fun with my own version of first world problems. It is poking fun at my own misery. Imagined or otherwise... hopefully, I don't get to write this kind of post often. If I do, it is part social commentary and part scathing remark. Part humor and part psychotic tendencies. Didn't they say that jokes are half meant?

Before I share my own, here are my two favorite ones:

*Hates to go through all the food in his refrigerator to get to his favorite cake at the far end of the tray.

*Hates that he has an uneven number of hotdog buns and hotdogs because he ate two hotdogs instead of just one.

How absurd is that? With hunger continuing to be a world problem, one becomes preoccupied with having too much food.

Do you have your own first world problems?

This reminds me of my mother who used to reprimand us in the dining table. That we should finish our food because there are lots of hungry children in Africa. So I said, if I finish my food then the children in Africa will not be hungry anymore? Waheehee.

How about those who drive less than 3 - 5 miles to work everyday and curse about how much the gasoline costs to get to and from work? (Ever hear about a bike or, I don't know, walking?)

How about when you can't get a cellphone connection and declare you can't talk to anyone while standing in a room full of people?

How about those with cable/satellite television, a PlayStation, Computer, a kitchen full of food/appliances, etc. and still complain because they can't find anything to do?

Are those the type of things you're looking for?

many countries are having hunger problems due to lack or waste of food. Ethopia is hungry but asia is throwing away food

Never insult food by leaving it was my mother's favorite admonishment. Ended up eating everything and developing a serious weight problem.

How about buying juice -like V8 Fusion- so I can ease up on the soda; and the soda winds up in the front of the 'fridge while my juice is pushed back and I forget about it??? Yeahhhh, thanks a lot lol.

When I see what some people put in their supermarket trolley, I think, oh my, am I really that poor. I think as we get older, we get wiser. Many of us make do with the food we have on hand, whether we want to or not.
